MADISON COUNTY BOARD OF ELECTIONS Board of Elections Conference Room  ABSENTEE SESSION November 8, 2016 2:00 PM  MINUTES CALLTO ORDER  Chair Dyatt Smathers called the meeting of the Madison County Board of Elections to order at 2:20 PM at the Madison County Administrative Offices Building Board of Elections Office. In attendance were Board Members Dyatt Smathers, Chair; Ray Lewis, Secretary; Jerry  Wallin, and Kathy Ray, Director. COUNTING OF ABSENTEE BALLOTS  The counting of the absentee ballots began in Room 26 with all Board members confirming the chains of custody and seal numbers, supervising the closing of the one stop machines, observing the printing of the one-stop results tapes, and removing the flash cards. The counting progressed to entry of the early one-stop voting flash cards into the Unity The Board reviewed the results for accuracy and the ASCII file was prepared and uploaded  software.  into the Election Reporting software for prompt release at 7:30 p.m. The Board recessed at 5:15 p.m. and reconvened at 7:25 p.m.  COUNTING OF ELECTION DAY BALLOTS  Master PEBS for all precincts were read into the Unity Election Reporting software. The Board counted write in votes for Election Day and one stop early voting and entered the proper names and write in vote counts into the SEIMS Election Night Reporting application Curbside paper ballots were read and counted using the M100 optical scan and hand count. Curbside results were entered into the Unity software and transferred to Election Night  for all reporting groups, including the absentee mail in ballots.  Reporting for public viewing. ELECTION REPORTS  The Canvass Block Style Report was printed from the Unity software and uploaded to the  State Board's file transfer site.
