Madison County Board of Elections  Meeting Minutes-Absentee/Regularly Scheduled Meeting  April 16, 2024  The Madison County Board of Elections held an Absentee/Regularly Scheduled Meeting on Tuesday April 16, 2024 at Suite E, Room 16, 5707 US 25-70 Hwy, Marshall, 28753. In attendance: Jerry Wallin, Chair; Dyatt Smathers, Secretary; Brian Ball Member; Ray Lewis; Debbie Ponder, Member; Jacob Ray, Director; and one member oft the public.  Call to Order: Agenda: Minutes: 0). Members' Report:  Chair Wallin called the meeting to order at 3:00 p.m.  Motion (DS, DP) to approve the agenda as presented. The motion passed unanimously (5-0).  Motion (DS, JW) to approve March 20, 2024 Meeting Minutes as presented. The motion passed unanimously (5-  Secertary Smathers lead a discussion with the board, director, and members of the public about voting  equipment andt the in-person voting process.  Director's Report:  The director provided an update on logic and accuracy equipment testing, his meeting with the commissioners  about the Board of Elections 2025 budget, and the current year's budget.  New Business: (5-0)  Absentee Ballot Approval: Motion (DS, RL) to approve, one CIV Absentee Ballot. The motion passed unanimously Second Primary Poll Worker Approval: Motion (DS, JW) to approve the early voting and election day poll-worker General Election Early Voting Plan: Director presented the attached 2024 General Election Early Voting plan. Motion (DS, RL) to approve the 2024 General Election Early Voting plan as presented. The motion passed  list as presented. The motion passed unanimously (5-0).  unanimously (5-0).  Public Comment:  Cheryl Willaims thanked Secertary Smathers on leading the round table discussion on voting equipment and in-  person voting.
