Madison County Board of Elections Meeting Minutes - Regular Session August 22, 2023 The Madison County Board of Elections held their regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday August 22, 2023, at Suite E, Room 16, 5707 US 25-70 Hwy, Marshall, 28753. Call to Order: Chair Wallin called the meeting to order at 3:00 p.m. Minutes: Motion (BB, RL) to approve. July 18 meeting minutes as presented. The motion passed unanimously (5-0). Members' Report: Member Ball recapped his experience at the State Board Conference. Member Smathers reviewed the. Judge appointment recommendations and noted that the list complies with General Member Ponder recapped heri first State Board Conference and was appreciative of the experience of attending the Statute 163-41. conference. Director's Report: The director reported on preparations fori the potential September 12 municipal primary, the State Board Conference and answered board member questions about the newi filing period. New Business: Motion (BB, RL) to approve the recommended precinct judge list as presented. The motion passed unanimously (5-0). Motion (BB, RL) to pass a resolution that the voters oft the North Marshall Precinct that lie within the Town of Marshall Municipality bet temporarily transferred, for the purpose of voting, to the South Marshall Precinct for the 2023 Municipal Motion (DP, BB) that the voters oft the North Marshall Precinct that lie within the Town of Marshall Municipality be transferred, fort the purpose of voting, to 145 Blannahassett Island, Marshall, NCi for the 2023 Municipal Election.
