MADISON COUNTY BOARD OF ELECTIONS Board of Elections Conference Room  ABSENTEE SESSION November 8, 2022 2:00 P.M.  MINUTES CALL TO ORDER:  Chair Wallin called the meeting of the Madison County Board of Elections to order at 2:00 p.m. In attendance was Jerry Wallin, Chair; Dyatt Smathers, Member; Sandra Tolley, Member; Brian Ball  Member; Jacob Ray, Director. New Business:  The Board duplicated one ballot that was unreadable from one-stop location Beech Glen Community Center and tabulated the duplicated ballot before taking action to close and count Absentee Ballots. Motion (DS, JW) to tabulate the one-stop and absentee mail-in ballots and the motion passed The voting equipment was reconciled with the chains of custody and results tapes were produced. The abstract of absentee results was created and signed by the Board Members. Motion (DS, JW) to recess the meeting until 7:30 p.m. and the motion passed (4-0).  (4-0).  BallotTabulation and Reporting:  The absentee results were uploaded to the North Carolina State Board of Elections reporting software  for release at 7:30 p.m. Adjournment:  Motion to adjourn at 9:45 p.m. (DS, JW) and motion carried (4-0)  Jerry Wallin, Chair Ray Lewis, Secretary  A  Page 1 of1
