Madison County Board of Elections Meeting Minutes October 16, 2018 The Madison County Board of Elections met on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. in the Board of Elections Conference Room. In attendance: Dyatt Smathers, Chair; Sandra Tolley, Vice Chair; Ray Lewis, Secretary; Jerry Wallin, Member; Kathy Ray, Director; Wade Gahagan, Deputy Director; and two (2) members of the public. Call to Order Chair Smathers called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. Agenda Moved, Seconded (JW, RL) and Carried (4,0) to approve the agenda as presented. Approval of Minutes Moved, Seconded (RL, JW) and Carried (4,0) to approve the September 19 and October 1,2018 meeting minutes as presented. Chair's and Members' Reports Chair Smathers commented that the Board of Elections is ready to begin election activities. Vice Chair Tolley commented that she attended the election official training and complimented the Member Wallin commented that many voters are unfamiliar with the Board of Elections new address Secretary Lewis commended the staff with its efficiency and timeliness in establishing the new. Moved, Seconded (RL, The Board reviewed the absentee ballot applications presented as spoiled and reissued. Moved, Seconded (JW, RL) and Carried (4,0) to spoil 6 CIVILIAN absentee applications. Citizens Comments A citizen suggested the Board of Elections submit a letter to the editori informing readers oft the Board of Election's s change in location.
