Madison County Board of Elections Meeting Minutes - Regular Session  January 18th, 2023  The Madison County Board of Elections held their regularly: scheduled meeting on Wednesday, January 18th, 2023, at Suite E, Room 16, 5707 US 25-70 Hwy, Marshall, 28753. In attendance:. Jerry' Wallin, Chair; Ray Lewis, Secretary; Dyatt  Smathers, Member; Brian Ball, Member; Jacob Ray, Director.  Call to Order: Agenda: Minutes:  Chair Wallin called the meeting to order at 3:00 p.m.  Motion (DS, RL) to approve the agenda as presented. The motion passed (4-0).  Motion (DS, BB) to approve December 14, 2022 meeting minutes as presented. The motion passed (4-0).  Members' Report:  Member Smathers updated the board on discussions he had with: sitting county commissioners about the county's potential interests in Board of Elections storage space. Member Smathers provided an overview of the three  Municipalities int the County and the upcoming Municipality Elections.  Director's Report:  TextMyGov company presented a demo of their smart texting technology developed for local government. TextMyGov answered questions from the board and went over specifics for the proposed contract. The board had a discussion of the pros and cons of this service for the Board of Elections. The board tasked the director to complete additional The director provided an update on the polling location for the town of Marshall and the town's desire to hold the election at the local fire station int thet town of Marshall.
