MINUTES May 15, 2023 NORTH CATASAUQUA BOROUGH COUNCIL MEETING PEOPLE PRESENT CALL TO ORDER- - 7pm PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE PRESENT: President Peter Paone, Vice President. John Yanek, Councipersons: Mark Gioielli, Mike Macsisak, Michele Hazzard, Jessica Cope. Mayor Wm. Molchany. PEOPLE PRESENT TREASURER REPORT - Christina Czonstka Sewer Relief for Porter Chapman at 1103 6th Street - there was a water leak that was cleaned up by a service and water did not go down sewer. Adjusting from $658.50 to $65.00 which is the average bill for the past year. Travis agreed there was a leak. MOTION: Jessica Cope approves sewer relief in the amount of $593.50 for 1103 6th Street. 2nd by Mark Gioielli. No additional discussion, all in favor. OFFICE REPORT = Tasha Jandrisovits PAI PUC hearing Discussed that Travis and I went to the hearing virtually at Keystone. PUBLIC WORKS SUPERVISOR REPORT - Travis Brett Sewer main on Almond fixed - no invoice yet. Baseball net and poles installed for $400 approx. Basketball court $9868.27 - repair estimate Volleyball court $ 11,908.35 - estimate Should both be under, for entire area, Travis thinks under $10k and under $9k. Travis shared information with John. PW would work alongside, fill cracks concrete, power wash, 3 layers mesh, black sealant, repaint everything - 5-10- year shelf life, Old ones are 5 years old and ours are in pretty good shape = one week work alongside them. Michele asked when we would do. Next spring-J John, Travis agreed. Travis - did not get price on tear out as that would be grant item - much larger cost. CIVIL SERVICE - Roger Scheirer Corporal interview scheduled 5/25/23. Ongoing battle w/A&S-$685.00 Page 2of6 Ac unit fan blade went, 2 days later not working, teach out and said the fan blade fell off, that it was put in wrong, destroy other stuff. We should not be responsible for the parts or labor to fix. The owner thinks differently, owner says his guys would never sayt that. We are not paying, they offered to make a deal to split the cost with us and we said no. Steve said it makes sense to fight it and see where it goes. FIRE DEPARTMENT REPORT - Roger Scheirer 2 attendees to $490 for books/class New grant, no match, will look into 2r members passed Emergency Medical Response - Zach Scheirer and Adam Reinhart Mike asked how reorg was going - Roger said great, training a lot more, response times down 1:45: seconds, getting more equipment with more qualified individuals out.
