FIRE DEPARTMENT REPORT - Roger Scheirer Allen Township Fire Chief Dale Hassler. 14 calls for service ini the month of. January. Chief Scheirer then shared the following: Chief Scheirer reported that with the bridge on Willowbrook Road being closed they were asked for fire coverage for Willowbrook Road from Race Street to the bridge. This request came from Good evening, At the last council meeting on January 15th, there were some concerns brought to council's attention from some citizens about the fire department equipment and firefighter's location. After the DCED performed the study and presented the study to both councils of North Catasauqua and Catasauqua, both councils agreed to accept the study. This was all done in a public council meeting. Tonight, Iwould like to: share with you some of the numbers ofr response times. These times and reports are from Lehigh County Dispatch and Emergency Reporting. The times are automatically uploaded to the reporting system and these reports go directly to the In 2021, we were still in our station on Arch Street. We ran 182 calls for service and our average response time from dispatch to arrival was 8 minutes and the average response time from state when completed. dispatch to en-route was 4 minutes 51 seconds. Page 2of5 In 2023, running out of the Catasauqua Fire House, we ran 227 calls for service and our average response time from dispatch to arrival was 6 minutes and 33 seconds. The average response Both departments are responding toi incidents quicker and with more qualified manpower. There is no extra cost to either borough with both departments being in one location. This is also al benefit oft training, we have more members involved in training. Thet temporary repair willi include all Keystone - 3 components of quote to review, prepare bid and oversee work. W2A-because Keystone does not have a structural license, we need to use them, received bid in this afternoon, the quotei is not at all what we are looking for, prior tot them doingt the quote, they want someone to do: al lot of prework, laytemporary floor upstairs, which does not make sense, since the joists they need to examine Petei is going to contact Daniels engineer-tos seei ift they can provide a quote more inline with what we are looking for. He had the most DUI's of any Borough officer in the state and Rode with NYPD's 75 precinct and learned their procedures and protocols to intertwine the positives with ours. The concession stand and pavilion rentals are our biggest source of funds bringing in $4,568.62 and $3,080.00 respectively. The Northampton County Hotel grant of $4,000.00 allowed us to hold a series of concerts including locals The Clap and Shark Sandwich as well as ap performance by Flirtin' with We applied for and won a $2200 grant from the Whitehall Area Chamber of Commerce which funded the purchase ofa a handicap accessible picnic table. Donations totaling $6,395.64 were made by the committee in 2023 including: $600 to the Boro for new police lockers, $5,707.64 to the Boro for new aluminum picnictables, and $584 to the. Jess Finn foundation. We the Mob in conjunction with the Betterment Committee, ended the year with a balance of $11,296.92.
