NEWVILLE BOROUGH ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING MINUTES WEDNESDAYJUNE 19, 2024 The regular monthly meeting of the Newville Borough Economic Development Authority was held on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, in the Newville Borough Office at 4 West Street, Newville, Pennsylvania. The meeting was called to order at 7:05 P.M. by Vice Chairman Vincent Mellott. The invocation was offered by Kenneth Tuckey, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. On roll call, the following members were present: Vince Mellott, Vice Chairman; Kenneth Tuckey; Richard Gobin; Jeff Bouder; Bob Kanc, and we also welcomed our newest member, Shelby Yinger. Also present: Solicitor Marcus A. McKnight, III, Esquire, and Jack Erikson, liaison from Borough Council. Minutes: The minutes of the May 15, 2024, meeting of the Newville Borough Economic Treasurer's Report: The Treasurer's Report ending June 30, 2024 was reviewed and Approval to Pay Bills: The following bills were approved for payment by the Treasurer Development Authority were discussed. The: minutes were approved unanimously. approved by the Board. ofthe EDA Board: Bob Kanc - Chicken Barbecue (Expenses) Eddie Weekly - Chicken Barbecue Irwin & McKnight, P.C. Benton Associates - Audit Expense Carlisle. Area Chamber of Commerce - 568.75 1,416.00 175.00 500.00 276.00 The EDA Board members unanimously approved the payment of the above bills. Transfer oft the Authority's Bank Accounts from Adams County National Bank to F&M Bank was continuing. Jeff Bouder wrote his letter ofinterest for continuing on the Authority Board in 2024 and Old Business: Bob Kanc reported on the results of the 2024 Waterwheel 5K event. It went well despite thej poor weather. There were 761 runners and 39 door prizes awarded. The 2025 he participated in this meeting. Waterwheel 5K event is set for May 17, 2025. 1 New Business: Jack Eriksen gave a report on meetings regarding the availability of grants for 2024-2025. He also raised concerns about a housing development and a warehouse project located in West Pennsboro Township which could have significant impact on the Big Spring primary water source for the Borough ofNewville and this region. Project Update: Projects for Grant applications were briefly discussed. We will seek to investigate projects for 2024. We need to decide which projects should be undertaken by the Borough ofNewville or the Newville EDA. This will be addressed at our February meeting. The 5K Run is set for May 18, 2024.
