- EAST BERLIN BOROUGH COUNCIL 128 Water Street East Berlin, PA 17316 Call to Order: The: monthly meeting oft the East Berlin Borough Council was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance at 7 PM by James LeVan, Council President on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at the East Berlin Borough Hall. Members Present: James LeVan, Roberta Teal, Charles Krall, Chris Warner, Judith Salomon, Heather Gentzler, Donald Dixon, and Mayor-Stephanie Haley Members Absent: none Also Present: Solicitor Matthew Battersby and Secretary/Ireasurer Cindy Smith Approval of Agenda: Roberta Teal motioned approval second by Chris Warner. Motion carried. Executive Session: none Solicitor Battersby's Report: Presented the advertisement and timeline for ADA parking area and ingress/egress ramp into the Borough Hall. Charles Krall motioned to approve Borough Engineer, KPI Technology to proceed with drafting an advertisement for construction ofs said ADA Project, second by Roberta Teal. Solicitor Battersby requested an update from Council on discussions with the Fire Department regarding the Old Fire Hall. Charles Krall stated that the Fire Department is unsure ift they are able to assume a lease at this time. Further discussion will resume in future meetings. Motion carried. Constituents /Guests- Robin Heyser President, East Berlin Area Community Center (EBACC), introduced their Attorney, Tim Shultis. Attorney Shultis stated that EBACC has secured a location south oft the Borough moving forward with relocation, expansion and development of EBACC. Attorney Shultis presented Attorney Battersby with a five-year draft lease agreement pertaining to continued use and occupancy of the current EBACC building which is owned by the Borough. Motion carried. Mayor's Report: The Speed Sign report was reviewed by Mayor Haley. The May 2022 Borough Police report was presented by Mayor Haley. 2- Committee Reports: Finance: Roberta Teal Council acknowledged receipt of the Profit & Loss Statement as well as the Summary of Accounts. Charles Krall motioned toj pay the May bills totaling $24.473.16. second by Chris Warner. Motion Roberta Teal reviewed and signed the American Rescue Plan (ARP) donation checks that had been 1. Northeast Adams Fire & Rescue in the amount of$ 7,000.00 - Chris Warner explained that this check will be held until the Annual Worker's Compensation Audit is completed with the participation ofl Northeast Adams Fire & Rescue and the completion ofa a pertinent Worker's carried. earmarked/b budgeted during earlier Borough Council meetings as follows: Compensation form requested from the Life Team Regional Supervisor. 2. Trone Memorial Library in the amount ofs 2,500.00. 3. East Berlin Area Community Center in the amount of $4,500.00. 4. East Berlin Historical Society in the amount of $300.00. 7. Adams County SPCA in the amount ofs $500.00. 8. Adams County Office of Aging in the amount of $1,000.00. 9. East Berlin Area Joint Authority in the amount of$15,000.00. 5. East Berlin Parks & Recreation in the amount of $25,000.00 designated for a dog park. 6. East Berlin Parks & Recreation in the amount of $7,000.00 designated for Kuhn's Woods.
