MINUTES April 1, 2024 NORTH CATASAUQUA BOROUGH COUNCIL MEETING CALL TO ORDER PLEDGE ROLL CALL PRESENT: President Peter Paone, Vice President John Yanek, Councilpersons: Adam Landis, Mike Macsisak, Michele Hazzard, Dan Snyder. Jr. Counciperson Kaitlyn Lawton Mayor Molchany, Solicitor Stephanie Steward, Secretary Tasha Jandrisovits, Treasurer Annette Englert Jessica Cope ABSENT: Also in attendance was Sgt. Tramonte and Fire Chief Roger Scheirer. APPROVAL OF MINUTES MOTION: By Dan Snyder to approve the meeting minutes from the March 18th meeting. 2nd by Michele Hazzard. No additional discussion, all in favor. PEOPLE PRESENT- none OFFICE REPORT -1 Tasha Jandrisovits Resident complaint about the intersection of Grove and Howertown = vehicles not stopping during daytime hours. Shared with police department. Council discussed. TREASURER REPORT - Annette Englert - no report. PUBLIC WORKS SUPERVISOR REPORT - Travis Brett Almond Street 2nd advertisement-No bids received for second time. Stephanie wille email Travis the process, but basically, he is ok to proceed to find someone to do work without the bid process. EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT REPORT - Greg Scheirer FIRE/CIVILSERVICE/OPERATIONS - Roger Scheirer Roger confirmed they are still covering Willowbrook road until bridge completed. 14 calls for the month, average of 8 firefighters per call, 7 firefighters to complete training next weekend. Page 1of3 POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORT- Chief Wolfer - Sgt Tramonte park more often, the PD will do more consistent checks at the park. OFFICE INSURANCE & PERSONNEL REPORT - Adam Landis I no report Police report - information for VP Yanek = a memo was sent to officers regarding checking the PUBLIC WORKS REPORT , John Yanek Volleyball - starts Monday 5/20 Facebook- - let know ahead if possible. the certification and a certain number of stops. John asked if we planned to send letters regarding paving, said no, we will post on website and John asked abouti the weights and measures - Pete said not enough to commit tol handle, requires Pete and Mayor Molchany discussed meetings that happened ini the past regarding truck traffic. Stephanie - you can regulate by ordinance. Pete stated they were told lasti time theyl looked into ify you stop them from coming into town there needs to be a place they can turn around. RECREATION COMMITTEE REPORT - Michele Hazzard Next recreation committee meeting is April 17th, Sue and Tina met w/YMCA to review proposals. Basketball starts Wednesday May 8, Monday and Wed, Tuesday and Thursday will be makeups. LAW COMMITTEE REPORT Michele Hazzard - no report PUBLIC PROPERTY & PARKS REPORT - Jessica Cope absent PUBLIC SAFETY-POLICE- - Michael Macsisak Mike contirmed there are cameras at the park. They willl be used if there are issues. PUBLIC! SAFETY-FIRE REPORT - Daniel Snyder - no report MAYOR REPORT: - William J. Molchany no report SOLICITOR REPORT - Atty. Stephanie Steward = no report.
