1- EAST BERLIN BOROUGH COUNCIL 128 Water Street, East Berlin, PA 17316 Call to Order: The regularly scheduled monthly meeting ofthe East Berlin Borough Council began with the Pledge of Allegiance at 7:00 PM led by Chris Warner, Council President on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at Members Present: Chris Warner, Roberta Teal, Judith Salomon, Robert Larson, Charles Philips, Gregery the East Berlin Borough Hall. Members Absent: Green, Judy Salomon, Heather Gentzler and Mayor Stephanie Haley Also Present: Administator/lreasurer Cindy Smith Solicitor's e-mail correspondence: Approval of Agenda: Roberta Teal motioned approval, second by Gregery Green. Motion carried. Inr response to the e-mail correspondence regarding Kuhn's Woods from Solicitor Battersby to the Council, Charles Philips motioned to rescind the current Kuhn's Woods Grant Contract #BRC-TAG- Roberta Teal motioned to request Solicitor Battersby pursue a Quiet Title related to the old railroad right-of-way crossing over and through Kuhn's Woods, second by Gregery Green. Motion carried. Due to the unfortunate outcome oft this Grant Contract recission, Council concurred that now and in the future the Borough Solicitor will review all proposed Grant applications as related to the Borough Steve Haley discussed the need for mulch/maintenance at the park and stated that the Parks and Rec Commission will assist with the related labor. Judy Salomon motioned an expenditure of up to $6000.00 for this purpose, second by Charles Phillips. By: roll call vote motion carried. Roberta Teal motioned toj pay the July bills in the amount of $95,587.59, this amount included the purchase oft the 2024 F350 Maintenance truck, second by Gregery Green. Motion carried. Mayor's Report Ordinance Officer Report Personnel - Chris Warner: Mayor provided speed sign quotes. The Council will be considering this further in the near future. The Mayor will be attending the PA Fall Leadership Oct 11-13 2024 at a cost of$190 with consensus Gregery Green voted to increase the Mayoral stipend to $1,875.00 beginning with the calendar year 2026, second by Heather Gentzler.
