BOX 29, LEHIGHTON, PA 18235  LEH  OF CARY  July 1, 2024  RE: Lehighton Borough Council Special Meeting Minutes - May 20, 2024  As special meeting of Lehighton Borough Council was held ini the municipal building on Monday, May 20, 2024. The meeting was called to order at 6:30 PM by President Grant Hunsicker. Members in attendance were:. John Kreitz, Autumn Abelovsky, David Zimmerman, Ryan Saunders, Rebecca Worthy, and Steve Hawk. Officials in attendance were: Borough Manager  Dane DeWire.  CALL TO ORDER: - 6:30 PM Pledge of Allegiance. NEW BUSINESS  Discussion on vacant Public Works Maintenance Operator Positions. Borough Manager Dane DeWire stated that 22 applications were received for the Public' Works Maintenance Operator Positions. DeWire went on to explain that 8 applicants had a class 'A' CDL, 9 applicants had a class 'B' CDL, and the remaining applicants did not possess a CDL. DeWire reported that the hiring committee unanimously narrowed the 22 applications down to the 2 most-qualified applicants. Councilors Kreitz/Saunders made the motions to offer Ethan Schaffer and Craig Peters the positions of Maintenance Operator and hire them pending acceptance and pre- employment screening. All were ini favor with no questions or objections. Motion to go into Executive session for Personnel. Councilors Kreitz/Worthy made the motions to go into Executive Session at 6:32 pm to discuss personnel and all were ini favor with no questions or objections. Motion was made to go back into Regular Session and all were ini favor with no questions or objections. DeWire announced to. Jessica Ahner, who was present, that Borough Council has unanimously agreed to offer her immediate health benefits, assuming she  1    accepts the remainder of the terms of her conditional offer. Ahner accepted the offer of Borough Secretary with an annual salary of $50,000 and agreed to a start date of June 3.  ADJOURNMENT  Councilors Kreitz/Saunders made the motion to adjourn the Meeting at 7:22 pm and all were in  favor with no questions or objections.
