Thompsontown Council Meeting December 18, 2023 7 PM meeting of the Thompsontown Borough Council was held in the Borough Office on November 20, 2023. The following were in CoumelmenCounchomen. Willard Roush, Martin Wilson, Robert Speece, Aregular Sue Pontius, Thompsontown attendance: President Andy Lenig, Vice-President Roger Stutts, Secretaryreasurer Connie Eaton, Solicitor Seth Mosebey minutes and the financial report were made by Claybaugh on for last month's minutes. The Thompsontown Volunteer Fire Department minutes were reviewed with Council. The Municipal Authority meeting minutes were not and Engineer Brian Book. Mayor Gerald Eaton was absent. Motion to approve both the correction to add Nathan Connie Eaton and seconded by Willard Roush with one available since their meeting is later this week. Pontius asked if Council wants the donation to the Thompsontown Volunteer Secretary Fire Department to be paid in December. Roger Stutts made the motion to pay the Secretary Pontius a Resolution #6 of 2023 appointing an donation and Robert Speece seconded. Council approved. Solicitor Mosebey auditor gave of the Borough of Thompsontown. Council appointed Wagner, independent Elsasser & Associates, PC as their auditors for the fiscal year 2024 to examine Solicitor Mosebey also presented a copy of the Deed of Dedication from Norma M. Frymoyer for the portion of land identified as Lot 67-B Retention Area. Thompsontown Park Engineer should be reviewed tomorrow since the state budget has passed. His report will Dreese, the accounting records of the Borough of Thompsontown for the fiscal year 2023. Borough now owns the property known as the "Holding Pond." Brian Book handed out his report, he noted that the grant for the Haldeman be included in the minute book. Pontius reviewed the Helipad License had everything listed for quotes on Secretary to this done. Still waiting on price quotes, PP&L was out but no report expenses get Secretary came back yet. Will report back on this in December. Pontius informed Council the State Street light has been added to the Office bill. Several Council members has seen that it was on already. Council members received the first full Chapter of Ordinances to review. Minor changes will be corrected by Secretary Pontius and give them to Solicitor Mosebey for final President Lenig read a letter from the Municipal Authority with a request to have the re- appointment of Seth Hart to the Board of Directors effective January 1, 2024. His term will expire on 12/31/2029. Motion by Roger Stutts and seconded by Martin Wilson, review sO they can be added to the website. Council approved. Secretary Pontius informed Council the Liquid Fuels audit has been completed and with the new online PennDot system, 2023 only needs the December information put in for Council was shown a new Thompsontown Logo that will be put on envelopes, labels, and letterhead. This is the first time our seal has been re-produced to use. The 2023-2024 Budget was reviewed by Council, the proposal budget is now ready for resident review. Only major change is staff will receive an increase in pay, this is Roger Stutts asked for assistance for a wooden table for the office. The table will be 10'X4.
