LEYPAR  Ridley Park Borough Council Regular Session April 18, 2017  Welcome  The Ridley Park Borough Council met in Regular Session on the above date in Council Chambers of Ridley Park Borough  Hall with Council President Bob Berger presiding. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM.  Pledge of Allegiance  Mayor Eberle led the reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance,  Roll Call  Councilor. Mayor's Report (Honorable Hank Eberle)  Mayor reported on people walking with cell phone and not paying attention to their surroundings, safetyi is his purpose. ve Mayor talked about the increase in dog droppings and to please get the word out to pick up after your pet. Mayor Eberle discussed how important volunteers are and asked for volunteers for the beautification project on May 6th at Stewart Ave and Chester pike near the 195 exit at 9:00 am. Committee Reports  Planning and Zoning (Councilor Mike Gale)  Planning Commission -l Last month was cancelled and the next meeting willl be Wednesday. April 26th. Zoning- There is a' variance submitted for a property on Hinkley Ave for a porch in the rear and the variance is for the side yard setback. The tentative date for the hearing will be May 11th depending on the solicitor to confirm. Code Enforcement - Mr. Gale read report. The Code enforcer inspected 51 building permits and pending additional information waiting on 10 more, They did 42: site inspection (i.e. Concrete, occupancy..): 28 Rental licensed and Mr. Gale stated that 404 Bonsall ave is almost completed. The interior is done waiting to finish the exterior to be  transfers, any failure will be giving a citation for every unit that did not obtain al license. Public Safety (Councilor Jim Glenn)  Fire: Chief Eckenrode provided the monthly report.  Police: Chief Frazier wanted tol let residents know their Little league opening day this Saturday and the from Tasker to jayers streets will be blocked with barricades. They are placing no parking sign's. Safety with about a 100 people or SO Police had an Active shooter training he prefers to call it crisis response training. The officers completed and became  for a little bit of time from 10:00am to about 12:00pm.  certified.    Training the officers this weekend at Neuman on drug epidemici in Delaware County, trained on the investigations not only what to do to get them into an ambulance, but the afteri investigations. Good program for our Officers to take it nne step further. They have done the restaurant inspections.and. sO far, nothing to report about. Mosquito spraying will start May 1sta and runs through November they will be out around 8:30 -8:45. Community Resources (Vice President Samantha Snow)  Recreation Board - no activity School Board - no activity. Parks and Property (Councilor Shellie Endriss--Dalessio) Highway Department- -is already ing grass cutting season  The Lake cleanup is April 22 at 9:00 am and anyone wanting to volunteer they will be meeting at Hiliside and Genlock  Streets.    Mrs. Dalessio was in contact with Code enforcement about the tree on Riverview: and they have concluded to do a  Abatement on the property for that.  khletic club will be having opening day as the Chief Frazier had stated. The Business Association had the Easter egg hunt and it was heavily attended.  Mrs. Dalessio shows us a rock that is a new game the kids are doing now and you will find then throughout Ridley park and she has seen them at the Library and the Borough Hall. The kids find them and then go on Facebook and post the  picture and then other kids will: see who found the rock they' hid and then hide them again. Mr. Glenn Correction the Lake Cleanup is meeting at the bridge off Hillside not Genlock.  Jared Brennan ask about the hiring of Part Time help with the grass cutting? Historical Commission- = Library Board - Reportread attached Historical Society - no report.  SORA Meeting to be announced to be Wednesday. With no other questions from Council, the motion passed unanimously  Finance and Personnel (President Berger)  Main Streets Next meeting Tuesday April 26th at 6:30 at Casey's. Volunteers are needed. Discussing Possibilities, the Movies by the Lake, the farmers Market. They are the reason we have the lake cleanup program. They voted on new board.  CDCA- - meeting was April 10th and Ridley Park sent a donation to the Chester/Delaware county water shed program. Grants = CDBG Bonnes Park is finished and we will decide on the Officially Dedicate the park. Date coming soon. Personnel- Borough Manager interviews are complete. Next stepi is back ground checks and then a vote in the May Finance - Audit for the borough is complete and we already discussed in the beginning of the meeting. Jim Butt- 383 Hillside Rd, right to know and the DVD missing and that was not the case and he can come review the DVD Jimmy Garvy- submitted to the National Historical. society to have his Uncle Robert A. Nilion for a marker and to be inducted. They denied and council Jared Brenanan suggest the Borough might like to do their own Marker. Sheila Glenn- 116 Kearny Place just wanted council to know that she has the disk sO she could finish the minutes being lack of Borough Manager she offered to type them up.
