JAMAICA BEACH ORDINANCE NO. 2024-11 TAXI RATE FOR THE 2024-2025 FISCAL YEAR  THIS TAX RATE WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS  THAN LAST YEAR'S TAX RATE.  THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 3.50 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY  APPROXIMATELY $6.16.  AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OFJ JAMAICE BEACH, APPROVING AND LEVYING THE AD VALOREMTAX RATE OF $0.145748 PER ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100.00) OF ASSESSED VALUATION OF ALL TAXABLE PROPERTY WITHIN THE COPRATE LIMITS OF THE CITY FOR THE USE AND SUPPORT OF1 THE MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT OF THE CITY OF. JAMAICA BEACH, TEXAS FOR THE 2024-2025 FISCAL YEAR. MAKING VARIOUS FINDING AND PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE SUBJECT; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF.  BE ITI RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF. JAMAICA BEACH:  WHEREAS a budget appropriating revenue generated for the use and: support of the municipal government of the City of Jamaica Beach, Texas has been approved and adopted by the city council as WHEREAS the City conducted. a public hearing on a proposed taxi rate on September 26, 2024; and WHEREAS the City Council finds that iti is necessary and proper for the good government, peace and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF. JAMAICA BEACH, SECTION1. That upon all personal, real, and mixed property, owned and situated with the territorial limits oft the City of Jamaica Beach, Texas on January 1, 2024, and not exempt from taxation by such City under the Constitution and Laws of the State of Texas, there shall be and there are hereby levied for the fiscal year beginning October1 1, 2024, annual ad valorem taxes  required by Chapter 102 of the Texas Local Government Code; and  order of the City to adopt an Ordinance establishing an ad valorem tax rate.  TEXAS, THAT:    City of Jamaica Beach  Ordinance No. 2024-11  for the maintenance, operation and support oft the general government (general fund) at the rate of $0.145748 per $100.00 dollar of assessed valuation, on 100% of such property.
