The Board was called to order at 2:05 p.m. New Announcements: Vice Chair Pouchot reported on the Board's October 19th, 2023, industry site visit of Escapod Trailers located at 6050 W, Coalville, UT 84017. More specifically, Ms. Pouchot reported on the benefits and challenges of operating a manufacturing facility in Summit County as expressed by Founder, Chris Hudak. Member Pouchot encouraged staff to continue to organize site visits to other industries within Summit County. Old Business None Minutes Dan McPhun moved to approve the minutes from September 21, 2023. The motion was seconded by TJ Bates. 1. Vacant Building Inventory - Elyse Kats Economic Development and Housing Manager Elyse Kats presented to the Board her work towards building commercial vacant land and building inventory in Summit County. Ms. Kats is using ESRI Business Analyst to compile attribute data for each site location. Additional data fields are to be Summit County 601 NI Main! Next, she physically walked each community larea and outreached to real estate professionals and Staff will include the vacant building/land inventory in the County's Economic availability, etc. other online sources such as LoopNet, etc. Development Strategy. 2. Next Industry Tour Staff recommend that they try and setup a site visit for the Board to BJ Rees's Enterprise located at1045 S Hoytsville Rd, Coalville, UT 84017. 3. Rural County Grant Staff made an application to the Governor's Office of Economic Opportunity for Rural County Grant Funds and successfully received a grant for $200,000. These funds will be used to support infrastructure (primarily broadband), Workforce Development and Small Business with a focus on the building trades and childcare industries. With regards to Broadband, Rural County Grant funds will be used to target and leverage additional dollars for areas with zero or underpertorming services. Staff will also be moving all grant applications to the County's new grant management software AplifFund.
