MINUTES OF BUDGET MEETING: JULY 25, 2023 1. Call to order: Mayor Muska called the meeting to order at 5:32 PM. David Pratka, Matt Miller, and. Joe Pustejovsky were present. 2. Roll Call: present council members Mayor Tommy Muska, Cody Harris, Natalie Kelinske, 3. Harold Pfleiderer was present and went over. his 2023 -2 2024 budget proposals. First, he went over the Fire Marshal and Emergency Management budget requests: 1. Knox Box Defender 6 System($16,500), Fire Marshal Salary ($15,000), annual fire hydrant maintenance and flow testing ($12,500), travel/training and CE expense ($3,500), fire prevention supplies ($1,800), annual cost for Emergency Solution RMS Software ($1,300), reimbursement for use of personal cell phone for city business ($300). Total budget request for Fire Marshal & Emergency Management budget: $50,900.00. For the West Fire Department budget proposal, he is asking for the following: pager replacement ($21,000), PPE replacement program ($15,800), annual hose and ladder testing ($3,500), annual fire pump testing ($1,325), annual testing of aerial device ($1,200), annual maintenance contract for the Bauer: 5.5 air compressor ($2,250), annual SCBA maintenance ($1,150), and annual maintenance on gas monitoring equipment ($1,375). Total budget request for Will David Kapavik and Garrett Uptmore were present regarding the 2023 - 2023 West EMS budget proposal. The West EMS is requesting the following budget items: utilities ($16,000), stipend toward paid staff salary ($200,000), diesel fuel ($34,000), insurance ($20,000), and 800 MhZ radios ($40,000). Total budget request from West EMS: $310,000.00. Will David and Garrett recommend that the city purchase new: radios for the police department and give the current police radios to the West EMS, this would make the total budget request, $270,000.00. When asked what the West EMS: spends per month, Will David stated around $25,000. Natalie Kelinske asked for monthly and quarterly revenue statements and Will David said he could get that report from the billing company. The City of Gholson supplies the West EMS with $15,000 quarterly from their ARPA funds. Garrett said that they need 5 new cardiac monitors, 1 for Will David's truck, 1 spare, and 3 for the trucks. The lease for 5 cardiac monitors would be around $43,000 per Fire Department: $47,600.00. year with al life span of 10 years. 4. Council adjourned at 7:06 PM.
