MINUTES OF BUDGET MEETING: JULY: 20, 2023 1. Call to order: Mayor Muska called the meeting to order at 5:35 PM. David Pratka, Matt Miller, and. Joe Pustejovsky were present. 2. Roll Call: present council members - Mayor Tommy Muska, Cody Harris, Natalie Kelinske, 3. CJC Gillaspie presented his 2023 - 2024 budget requests. He would like to purchase two, 2024 F-250: super cabj pickups from Sykora Family Ford (totalS120,000). The trucks would be replacing John Holecek's and CJ Gillaspie's current trucks. CJ's current truck would be passed on to Bill Hunt in code enforcement. The cost ofthe trucks would be equally split between the General Fund and the Water/Sewer Fund. He is also requesting one utility bed from Knapheide for John Holecek'st truck at a costo of$16,000. The total cost would be $136,000 (split between GF and W/S Bill Hunt, code official is requesting the following: renewal of IWorQ permit and code enforcement documenting software for a total of $5,090. He is also requesting education and training totaling $3,796.50, and equipment including ai mobile vehicle printer, clothing allowance, and office supplies of $1,000. Bill's total budget request is $9,986.50 which would come out of the general fund expenditure budget. Mayor Muska and Shelly Gillaspie put in $50,000 in the current working budget which would cover his requests and allow for dilapidated structures and junk vehicles tol bea abated. Bill also suggests hiring] Randall Riggs (al local whoretired from Bureau Veritas) for residential inspections. He suggests keeping Bureau Veritas on board to do all commercial and residential subdivisions. Randall was requesting the city to pay for his license renewal and his costs would be $25 per hour (which would be passed on to the customer). ChiefWhite is requesting several budget items for the police department. He is proposing a new position inl his department, a records clerk/receptionist. to greet the public, respond to open records requests, assist with monthly reports, and general office work. He is also requesting three new Ford F-150 patrol vehicles, radio renovation and/or improvement of equipment, technology improvements computerslaptops), patrol supplies, new records management system, Axon camera upgrade, training, and a miscellaneous fund.
