WORKSHOP Receive preliminary information from City Manager regarding FY 24-25 budget development and City Manager Ramos suggests transitioning our Police Chief position. back to aj full-time role. Currently, our police chiefi is in a part-time hybrid: situation due to having another. job. This setup has limited his ability to handle administrative tasks as more of his time is consumed by on-call duties. By returning the position toj full-time, he would have more time for administrative responsibilities. such as assisting with grants. Mayor Wilkerson: supports the idea of having aj full- time working chief who can respond to service calls, engage in traffice enforcement, conduct investigations, collaborate with other agencies, and handle administrative duties. Council Member Tom Combs also agrees with making the chiefo aj full-time position. Mayor Wilkerson mentioned that once the budget is finalized andj fund balances are identified, a multi-year strategic plan can be developed in the upcoming fiscal) year to start earmarking those funds for projects to off-set costs five or six) years down the road.. Judge Isenhour emphasized the court's activity leading to the prosecutor's involvement.
