BOWIE PUBLICLIBRARY BOARD MINUTES MAY20, ,2024  Call to Order: The Bowie Public Library Board held their regular bi-monthly meeting May 20+,2024, in the Bowie Library meeting room. President Karen Milchanowski called thei meeting to order at approximately 4:07 p.m. Others present: Beth Hiatt Library Director, Sally Morgan, Crystie Riley, Kelsey Minutes of Previous Meeting: It was moved by Sally Morgan and seconded by Crystie Riley to approve the minutes for the March 19th, 2024, with the correction oft the spelling of Priddy "Grant". Motion  Beach, Lua Brown, Jessica Burris, and Bennie Pickett. A quorum was present.  carried. Old Business: None New Business: Library Director's Report  Beth went over the statistics and how the library was closed due to carpet instillation March 26th through Beth went over the turn out for the solar eclipse watch party on April gth, with at turnout of around 55 Beth informed us of the donations received from Thrift Books, Friends, and a patron donation in April.  April 1St. people.  The library did a children's books withdrawal in April, with new books ordered. Beth went over the Comicon with a turnout of 400-500 people. Beth held Bowie ISD ESL at the library with 2 families showing up. On May 23Md the library is hosting a Comic Book Day for Evergreen. The library will be hosting Summer Reading Program starting June 4th. OnJuly 11-13th the Friends ofThe Library will bel holding the book sale. The library will be hosting adult craft night in August with date still to be announced.  ADJOURNMENT: With no further business to discuss, Lua Brown moved to adjourn, and Jessica Burris  seconded.
