POWHATANC COUNTY MEETINGMINUTES THURSDAY, ,JUNE 6,2024  PARKS & RECREATION, ADVSORYCOMMISSION  A MEETING OF THE POWHATAN COUNTY PARKS AND RECREATION ADVISORY COMMISSION WAS HELD ON JUNE 6, 2024, AT 6:00 PM IN THE TRAINING ROOM OF THE PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENI, LOCATED AT THE POCAHONTAS LANDMARK  CENTER, 4290. ANDERSON. HIGHWAY: IN POWHATAN VIRGINIA.  Commission Members Present:  Judy Cain-Oliver, Chair Greg Davis, Vice Chair Alex Higgins Frank Flannagan  Non-Voting! Members Present:  Megan Heatwole, Director of] Parks & Recreation Robert Powers, Board of Supervisors  A. J.Cain-Oliver called the meeting to order at 6:01pm. A quorum was established. B. Citizen Comments: room. training  Curt Nellis, retired Powhatan Emergency Management Coordinator, shared 13 people theater and cultural arts interest community meeting on' Thursday, May 30: at 6:00pm in the Rec mouth. Community members with significant theater arts backgrounds and ages youth to retired adults attended the meeting. Representatives from PHS and Powhatan ranging Community Theater attended and discussed opportunities for potential collaboration. The conversation engaged all facets ofcultural arts. Follow-up stepsi include the administration of asurvey to gauge thej pulse in the community about cultural arts opportunities. G.I Davis made ai motion to nominate Curt) Nellis as the Chair ofal PRAC Cultural Arts Subcommittee. F. Flannagan seconded the motion. Motion passed 4-0.
