We have around $15K left in this grant. Beccie has been workingwithSiera on what else can be used for this grant. Blighted Property - We got the "Green Light" to go ahead and advertise for the Environmental Specialist to come to inspect the building. Letters will be sent next week, and an ad will be placed in the Republican Newspaper. -- This is the same as lastmonth. Beccie has been working with the County Commissioners: office about the water issue a lot this past month, prepping for the Block Party, and cleaning up from homecoming. Beccie will get this completed for next week. Old Business: Update on Security Systems - Installation of security system is complete at the Community Building. Beccie is still waiting on a confirmation email from one of the organizations that utilize Community Block Party: We had about 70-75 kids in attendance. There were a lot of other public events that were hosted that evening. Mayor Reckart expressed his gratitude.towards Sand for Volleyball Court: Beccie was able to get one load of sand donated from Fairfax and the Streetlight @ Water Plant:They are coming to assess the location on Thursday of this week and Race/Flood Gate: Beccie has been working with Gary Kalbaugh who works with the Army Corp to come up with a solution as to what needs to happen with the gate malfunctioning. Gary was able to refer Beccie to Leon Skinner who is the Emergency Management Program Manager with the Army Corp. Leon is using his resources to see who exactly we would need to contact to try to get some help getting the flood gate fixed. Currently, Leon is speaking with the Director for Disaster Risk Reduction with the Maryland Department of Emergency Management to get us some help. Beccie is scheduled to have a meeting with the Director on Wednesday at noon. Burning Notice: There will be something put in the newsletters that will go out next Thursday Water Runoff on Old Bank Building: Beccie reported the water run off to Garrett County Community Action since they still own the building. GCCA is going through a lot ofemployment changes over the course of the last few weeks, SO it took Beccie two weeks to find out who the new contact would be, but she was able to reach the new Site Manager today to report the Clutter on Kitzmiller Addition Alley: Beccie was able to speak with the owner of the lot along the back side of the alley.
