JOE DECLARING A STATE OF EMERGENCY FOR HURRICANE HELENE AND PAYMENT FOR ALL CITY EMPLOYEES WHO WORK DURING A DECLARED STATE OF EMERGENCY FOR HURRICANE HELENE. WHEREAS, the City of Port St. Joe, Florida, recognizes that the City of Port St. Joe, WHEREAS, during such times of natural or other types of disaster, the City Commission oft the City of Port St. Joe, Florida, or the Board of County Commission ofGulf County, Florida, County of Gulf, is prone to floods, hurricanes, storms and other natural disasters, and; may declare a state of emergency, and; WHEREAS, during such declared state of emergency City employees may be called upon to secure the well being oft the residents ofthe City of Port St. Joe, and to protect the City property, and; WHEREAS, such tasks often require the City employee to work more than 40 hours per NOW,THEREFORE, BE: IT RESOLVED by the City of] Port St. Joe, Florida that: Any employee who works during a State of Emergency declared by either the City Commission of Port St. Joe, or the Board of County Commission of Gulf County, Florida, shall be entitled to overtime pay if the employee works more than 40 hours during the pay period in which the State of Emergency follows, or works more than 8 hours in any 24 hour period immediately before, week or moret than 8 hours per day, during or after the State of Emergency.
