Avenue G March 14, 2019 The meeting was called to order with the reciting of the Pledge to the Flag, Roll call was taken with Council President Mullikin, Council Vice President Kingsley, Council Member Ciotti, Council Member Roddy, Council Member Callahan, Attorney Wolking and Town Manager Nelson present. Consent Agenda Items: Allr matters listed within the Consent Agenda have been distributed to each member oft the Mcintosh Town Council for reading and study, are considered to be routine, and will be enacted by one motion of the Council with no separate discussion. If separate discussion is desired, that item may be removed from the Consent. Agenda and placed on the Regular Agenda by request. Please call 591-1047 for questions on Consent. Agenda items prior to the Council meeting. Feb. 2019 Callahan made a motion to accept the consent agenda. Roddy seconded. Motion Passes 5-0 Guests: Comm. Michelle Stone attended the council meeting and presented each member with a special edition lapel pin celebrating Marion County's 175th anniversary. She also invited residents to festivities on March 30th at the McPherson 601 SE 25 Ave in Ocala. There will be 200 vendors, food trucks, fun and games, Stone said. Citizen Comments: David Jones- suggested that council could save money repairing the civic center steps instead of putting in concrete steps. He said the wood steps lasted for over 20 years and wouldn't cost as much as the concrete steps. Kingsley said once you put the concrete in you don't ever have to worry about the steps again. Council agreed and reaffirmed their decision to replace the wooden steps with concrete. Citizen Board Committee Updates: Wolking and Devore said they were working on a tree ordinance and estimated that it would be ready for review by the summer. Ciotti seconded. Motion carried 5-0 by roll call Mullikin yes Kingsley yes Ciotti yes Callahan yes Roddy yes Stop Sign and Speed Bump- Ciotti made a motion to purchase a stop sign and a speed hump on Ave G near the preschool. Roddy seconded. Motion passed 5-0 Message from Mayor:_read Water Proclamation which showed the town's commitment to water conservation Message from the Council: Roddy said he ordered the part from Italy for radio station and hoped to have it up and running soon. He Ciotti said he we like council to review the charter. He said this had not been done since 1984. Council asked for it to be put on April's agenda. Ciotti also asked the council to establish a policy on Airbnb rentals. Direction to place this on next month's agenda. (Not placed on agenda because the state also said that April 2 would be his last meeting as a school board member. legislature passed an ordinance that supersedes local regulations.) Meeting Adjourned
