#6(a) CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING August 22, 2024 - 5:00 P.M. MINUTES 1. CALLTO ORDER: Mayor Tyson called the meeting to order at 5:00p p.m. 2. ROLL CALL: ABSENT: PRESENT: Council Member Herrera, Council Member Salgado, Council Member Hernandez, City Manager Mathes, Attorney Dill and Mayor Tyson 3. INVOCATION: Mayor Tyson gave the Invocation. 4. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: The Pledge was recited. 5. NEWE BUSINESS: (a) Discussion on transition process and appointment of an Interim City Manager. The Council expressed gratitude for Mark's dedication and mentions the challenges he faced, Mayor Tyson introduced Noah Powers and highlighted his extensive experience and qualifications. Noah Powers provided a detailed background, including! hisr military service, education andvarious including significant responsibilities. leadership roles in education and government. Council Member Salgado asked Mr. Powers to share his vision of Fellsmere. understanding the current situation before making any significant changes.
