THROUGHU fa SALUDA,N.C.) 8  City of Saluda Board of Commissioners  Special Called Budget Workshop Followed By A Public  Hearing For Budget Review Minutes  Date Time Location  6/25/2024 05:30PM  Saluda Library Chambers Room  1-0 Call to Order  Mayor Morgan called the Budget Workshop to Order at 5:30 Pm. June 25th 2024  2-Roll Call  Attendance was taken Present were Commissioner Talbot, Commissioner Walker, Mayor Morgan Commissioner Marion, City Manager Steven Orr, Assistant City Manager & Finance Officer. Julie Osteen, City Clerk Pam Waters,  and chief Price Absent was Commissioner Oxtoby Attorney Berg.  3-B Budget 2024-2025 Discussion  Chief Robert Dellinger from the Saluda Fire and Rescue came to the meeting to explain toi the commissioners he a .01 increase int the fire tax rate. He saidi most ofi it would be going to salaries. They want to put on another part-time employee on the days that he wasn't able to bei there to be available for a second calli ift the other crew was Commissioner Talbot asked about the fire department remodel know you! have denied anyone in the community using any of thet facilities over there. was at thel Board of Elections, and they saidy you have denied them usingt the Chief Dellinger Stated that they haven't denied them yet we warned them of this going on we haven't saidi no you Commissioner Talbot They said they may have tor move to the school and that in the future will cause a conflict with Chief Dellinger, the guy from elections was at one of our meetings lately and we told him this was going on and that space was getting smaller andt told him we may need to get up with youi in the future to make sure the space is good. The parking area will be done by election inl November they may have to use the bays. Itv was talked about at one time doing away withi ito duet toi the condition oft thel building when they were done with it. But that since has! been  wanted  why  already on a call. Said's some would got to equipment: andi remodel.  fire department. For voting.  can't use it. He called me and scheduled the run-off election.  the school.  handled.  Commissioners asked some questions ont ther remodel. Chief Dellinger answered their questions Chief Dellinger said he would.  Commissioner Marion asked Chief Dellinger to get them a call report. Commissioner Walker wants them to come quarterly to the commissioners' meeting to give them a report on how Commissioners discussed the budget and whatt they wanted to do. Commissioner Marion asked Assistant City Manager & Finance Officer. Julie Osteen ift the .01 cent firei increase was a pass-through. and wouldn't cost the city anything. She said ity was ap pass-through. They gave. Julie the direction to present version 3 at the public! hearing.  4-A Adjourn Adjourned at 6:0 02pm  Commissioner Marion made a motion to Adjourn Commissioner Walker Seconded all were in favor.  5-0 Call To Order Public Hearing  Mayor Morgan called thel Public Hearing and Budget review to order at 6:05 pm  6-Roll Call  Commissioner Talbot, Commissioner Walker, Mayor Morgan Commissioner Marion, City Manager Steven Om, Assistant City Manager & Finance Officer Julie Osteen, City Clerk Pam' Waters, and Chief Price Absent was  Commissioner Oxtoby Attorney Berg.  7-Public Hearing For Budget Review  No comments  8-R Resolution for Budget Approval 2024-2025  Assistant City Manager & Finance Officer. Julie Osteen read the Budget Ordinance.  Commissioner Marion made a motion to approve budget version 3 Commissioner Talbot seconded all were Assistant City Manager & Finance Officer. Julie Osteen went overt the! budget amendments to close out the Fiscaly year Commissioner Walker made a motion to approve the Budget Amendments as presented Commissioner  infavor.  ending June 30th, 2024 Marion seconded all were in favor.  9-Adjourn Adjourned at 6:42pm  Commissioner Marion made a motion to Adjourn Commissioner Walker Seconded all were in favor.
