They didn't replace the position that had when. Jonathan was here. Wel have been trying to do a cost-benefit analysis and do that job. Akaisha has been recently certified: zoning official. Shel hast taken the courses and she has expressed an interest to grow her professional development al little bit. It would be beneficial to have this contract in place with someone thath has had some other experience with code The other thing is with Mapping Assistance/GIS and something the cityi isi in desperate need ofi for water and sewer we will get thel benefits of the asseti inventory analysis that will be completed hopefully in September or October by McGill and associates which was started twoy years ago.. Johnathan! had started the process with the USDAI loans. He was trying toi figure out that water and sewer are the two pieces ofi infrastructure that costt the most and create the most problems as far as expenses. The Regional Commission has someone on staff that can create these mapping systems that willa allow us to know where our water and sewer lines are. What McGill will provide through the asset analysis would allow us to be more ini the: 21st century with mapping. When we have additional construction with engineers that couldt take that with similar work withl like whati is happening with Clark's property on Greenville St. It One contract has an hourly charge, and one has as set amount for a month. The longer-range vision oft this project willl have a significate impact ont the city with the Rails to Trails one oft the things that wel learned. at the seminar was thaty you can't just have al bike trail. You needt tol have something historical, and artistic, that is going to make them get off thet trail, come into thet town explore it ands spend money and leave with al better impression and a good word ofr mouth. The dogwood foundation is happy with the plans, and we have applied for a grant to study aj part of the trail. Iwill meet with Hunter next week to see how muchit will cost to get a site plan. Wev want to tie intot thel Dog park, the Sullivan property, the African American trail, and Henry's nature center. Het turned ito overt to. Jim Beyer whoi is a Board member. Overall, very positive. believe my budget was around 15,000.00 and thati includes the 5,000.00 private donation looks like we came in at 12,654.00 minus the vendor fees of 3,800.00 sO we came in ata around 8,800.00.s0 how was that compared to years prior? Commissioner Oxtoby andl Ms. Osteen Thel highest remember was: 30,000.00 but that included the race and chicken dinner. The pointlwant to make is we can have a very successive day for around 10,000.00 give or take how we manage the vendors.
