Call to order: Mayor Randy Garrett called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm and led the invocation, Councilmember. David 3. Approval ofs agenda: There were no amendments to be added, Councilmember Keith Prather made ar motion to accept the Approval of previous meeting's minutes: Councilmember. Public Forum: Mr. Demani, the owner ofGood Hope General Store, addressed the council about single beer sales and alcohol: sales on Sunday. Mr. Aslam Damani stated that he has the only store in Good Hope and is potentially losing customers to stores in Monroe and Bostwick that do sell after 12:30PM on Sundays; and he also stated that he was interested ins single beer sales. Mayor Garrett let Mr. Damani know what the law states and that these items would have to be voted on att the next general election, only after having: aj public referendum, three readings, and then have council discussion. A. Financial Report: The council was presented with a year-to-date report. Councilmember William Malcom madea motion to accept the financial report, and Councilmember Kelsey Malcom seconded the motion. All were in favor and B. City Halll Rentals: City Clerk Missy Daigle made the council aware ofar renter that did not comply with the clean up instructions and did not get the security deposit back. Changes were made to the rental agreement to include the Clean Upi instructions with the rental agreement. Previously, this was reviewed by the renter at the time ofkey pick up. P&ZI Update: Councilmember David Mullis, Jr. and P&Z Chair stated that Mayor Garrett and himself! had been doing some side work with the zoning map, there are colors and text codes that willr need to be changed. P&Z Chair, David Mullis, Jr. is getting dates for a P&ZI meeting to finish up the map; he has also been working on the updated LDO. D. Display Cabinet: The cabinet that was ordered and paid for was actually discontinued, the city has been reimbursed and A. Appointment ofl Ethics Board: A committee ofi fouri individuals that willi investigate any possible conflicts ofinterest and maker recommendations. on how tol handle ethical issues were chosen to be, Betty Bowers, Gail Sisk, Kevin Robison, and Colin Shiver. Reschedule September Council meeting: Due tot the Labor Day Holiday, Councilmember William Malcom madea a motion to reschedule the September meeting to the second!
