PUBLIC HEARING Fiscal Year 2024-2025 Budgets On Tuesday, February 20, 2024, Mayor Walker called to order the Public Hearing at 6:00 p.m. Present were council members Askvig and Watts. There were no members of the public in attendance to discuss the budgets. Council members had no comments on the budgets which will be voted on at the scheduled council meeting on Monday, March 11, 2024. At approximately 6:15 p.m. the public hearing was adjourned. Christopher J. Walker - Mayor Sharon Richmond - Clerk On Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at 6:15 p.m. the Work Session meeting for the Town of Gay was called to order by Mayor Walker. Members Askvig and Watts were present at roll call and it was determined a quorum did exist. The first item was approval of the Agenda. Council member Watts motioned to approve the agenda, seconded by council member Askvig. The vote in The first item on the agenda was continuation of the Land Use/Planning Ordinance discussion. Council member Watts had made some orectons/hanges/eals discussed at the previous work session of February 6, 2024. There were some other changes noted and agreed upon and all agreed the document would then be ready for our Attorney. The next item was discussion of a proposed Subdivision Ordinance. Council member Watts sent each member a copy of an ordinance from another small town she had adapted somewhat to fit our needs. There were some changes and recommendations and this will also require further discussion at a later Mayor Walker then discussed a revised and corrected city map returning some properties to Agriculture, that the County had mislabeled as He also gave a preview of a presentation Longleaf prepared for an Art Council. Mr. Summerour, owner of Longleaf, wants to make Gay and Longleaf, a center for the arts. The presentation was extremely well done As there was no more discussion required, council member Askvig motioned to adjourn the meeting at 8:35 p.m. seconded by council member Watts. favor was unanimous. date.
