CITY OF CANADIAN CALLED MEETING AUGUST 22, 2024 Be it remembered that on the 22nd day of August, 2024, the governing body of the City of Canadian met in a Regular Meeting at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall with Mayor Terrill Bartlett presiding. Members present were Terrill Bartlett, Ashlee Talley, Jonilyn Hanes, Wendie Cook, Matt Cipollone and Gary Prater. 1. Call to Order The meeting was called to order by Mayor Bartlett. 2. Invocation The invocation was given by Mayor Bartlett. 3. Public Comment John McIntire said his and Salem Abraham' s proposal that will bei in the form ofal handout could help the City's budget by $2 million dollars by condemning the stock of SPS/Xcel. He added that they have hired Laurie Brown admitted she felt it was time to move forward with a City Hall as the current one is nearly 100 years old and has many issues such as a sewer smell when you walk in the building, sewer problems, heating and air conditioning that has worked for years in the council chambers, etc. She added that even though she is living on social security, she is willing to pay more taxes in order to move forward with the Salem Abraham announced that Xcel has $215 million to disburse for damages from the fire; however, these scenarios typically come with low pay and slow play.
