Alsop present: Katie Sanders and Erika Vargas from The meeting was called to order by Chairman Pullen at 9:02 a.m. in the conference room of the Lumpkin County Administration Building, 99 Courthouse Hill, Minutes of the July 9, 2024 meeting: Motion to approve was made by Ms. the Assessor's office. Dahlonega, GA 30533. Armstrong with a second by Mr. Bosanko. Voted 5-0 in favor. Old Business: None New Business: ACOI Report: After reviewing the report and receiving clarification on a fewi items Ms. Smith: made ai motion to approve the applications and Ms. Armstrong seconded. Homestead Exemptions: Motion to approve was made by Ms. Armstrong with a Veterans Exemption - Simmons, Justin L: After review of documentation Mr. Bosanko made a motion to approve and Mr. Clark seconded. Voted 5-0 in favor. CUVA Breach - Frankie Luna estate (067-011-23.28 acres) Ms. Vargas presented the Board with a request from the property owner to remove the parcel from the program in order to sell. The first two Board of Equalization hearings were. held on August 6th and gth. On the 6th 17 were scheduled and only 2 showed. On August gth there were 10 scheduled for the morning and 7 were no-shows. The afternoon had 19 appeals handled by a single tax representative. All cases presented to the Board ofEqualization were: found in favor ofthe Tax Assessor. There are 6 appeals remaining to be heard by the Board of Equalization and an additional 5 that have received 30 days notices that could 2024 Digest: Ms. Sanders informed the Board that the 2024 Digest had been turned over toi the Tax Commissioner several days before it was required by statute. There were a few minor things to balance between the offices, but overall, it was a smooth transfer. The last thing to be added to the Digest would be the Public Utilities numbers and those come from thel Department of] Revenue - usually in November. With no further business a motion ofadjournment was made by Ms. Armstrong and asecond was made by Ms. Smith. Voted to adjourn at 9:33 a.m. 5-0. potentially continue to the BOE.
