Approve the agenda. at4:30 p.m. Approve the Board meeting minutes from July 11,2024, at 5:30 p.m. and July 29,2024, Superintendent Shannon Dillard recognized the Fannin County High School Track & Field Athletes who qualified and competed at the state level. Also recognized were three high school students for their humanitarian work in the school system. These outstanding students raised $15,000 between bake sales, bingo, and raffles to help give back to others in need. Director ofs Student Services Dr. Connie Huffintroduced Tara Cantrell and Sheena Rymer to share Chief. Academic Officer Dr. Lucas Roof shared an update regarding the recent activities of each an update on the recent Back to School Bash. School Governance Team (SGT). The Board heard public comment from one: individual. Motion by Chad Galloway, seconded by Lewis DeWeese, to approve Board Policy (GARHB) Paid Chief Operations Officer Darren Danner updated the board on facilities and the Fannin County Motion by Terry Bramlett, seconded by Lewis DeWeese, to approve agreement for construction of the livestock barn. The Mike and Annette Ensley Charitable Foundation Inc. will donate a sum not exceeding four hundred thousand dollars ($400,000.00) to construct a livestock barn at the Fannin County Agricultural and Environmental Science Facility. After discussion, which included School Board Attorney Lynn Doss, the previous motion was amended to table the proposal for GDOT Option for Right of Way for West Fannin. Superintendent's Comments: Superintendent Shannon M. Dillard reflected back to a week ago with the celebration of the Back to School Bash and open houses. She talked about how great it was to see everyone coming together, from the community to all the school staff, supporting each other. Ms. Dillard said she was proud to see all the kids tonight getting recognized for all their accomplishments and seeing what al heart of gold each one of them has. She recognized Director of Finance Susan Wynn and her team for all their hard work with the budget and millage rate presentation by presenting each staff member with a decorative owl made by Board member Bobby Bearden. Page 2 of3 Bobby Bearden said he enjoyed seeing all the children recognized for their hard work and congratulated everyone on their success with the Back to School Bash. Mr. Bearden spoke about the decorative owls he creates. He: stated it is always good to recognize people who do outstanding work. He wanted Ms. Wynn and her staffin the finance department tol know they are appreciated. He thanked them for all they do with the budget for thel Fannin County School System. He said he appreciated all thej principals and everyone attending the meeting inj person or online. Mr. Bearden Terry Bramlett said he would like to second everything Mr. Bearden already said. He thanked Ms. Wynn for the work and precision she put into herj job and said the audit results consistently show that. He also extended his appreciation and thanks to each employee in the finance Lewis DeWeese said he would like to second both comments before him. Mr. DeWeese said he hopes everyone looks into the GDOT option for the right of way at West Fannin and does more Chad Galloway thanked everyone who attended the meeting and everyone watching online, as well as everyone who gave a presentation. He also wanted to thank Dr. Lucas Roof and Miranda Roof for theirt time and effort in the track program. He said the program had grown sO much over the last few years, and he was proud to be part ofit. He said he was sO thankful to be in a system that still recognizes and honors God. He concluded by saying, "Thank you and God Bless." Mike Cole thanked the individual who spoke publicly at the board meeting. He reflected on the budget when he started compared to current. Mr. Cole spoke about the Board's work making decisions that benefit the kids and the community. He thanked each Board member for their commitment. Hei thanked all the principals for their hard work getting the new school years started. He thanked Officer Tony Sirianni for his service. He announced that East Fannin Elementary has anew school resource officer and asked that everyone who sees him thank him for his service.
