Appointment to Pataula Transit Board - Commissioner Joe Lee Williams moved Vice Chair Arcola Scott to the Pataula Transit Board, completing the term ending October to appoint 2026; seconded by Commissioner Tyrone Nelson. All voted in favor and motion carried. E. Resignations from Elections Board - Commissioner Joe Lee Williams moved to accept the resignations of Larry Westbook and Joseph. Road Superintendent - Road Superintendent Gene Haynes presented the July 2024 Road C.F Public Safety Director. -A Assistance EMS Chief Adam Griggs presented the July 2024 EMS report. He thanked Gene Haynes and the Road Department crew for work done at the EMS Center. Commissioner Joe Lee moved to accept the Rural Fire Defense Cooperative Lease Agreement and Memorandum of Understanding between the Georgia Forestry Commission and the Stewart County Fire and EMS; seconded by Commissioner Thomas favor and motion carried. County Attorney - County Attorney Bin Minter provided a report on legal topics pertinent to the county for the commission to review. Tony Simmons, Food Truck Owner - discussion over Mr. Simmons request to rent the lot behind Lumpkin City Hall to place his food truck. County Manager to obtain more details on request. Commissioner Comments: Commissioner Thomas Mayo- -I none information on Jones Dumpsters. Discussion ensued. Commissioner Tyrone Nelson - none Stewart County Water Authority. Commissioner Joe Lee Williams -asked Commissioner Thomas Mayo if he had received County Attorney Bin Minter - mentioned his email regarding the Open Record Requests to the Vice Chair Arcola Scott - need to appoint a Chairman for the Election Board. Commissioner Nelson moved to appoint Shaconda Screws as Chairman; seconded by Commissioner Thomas Tyrone Mayo. All voted in favor and motion carried. Vice-Chair also mentioned her attending the Golden Triangle meeting, the High School Meet and Greet, and the New Horizon meeting.
