Putnam County Board of Tax Assessors - Minutes - August 13, 2024 Members Present: Shelby Storey, Shona Bales, Evan Reese,John Richter Absent: Also Present: Virginia Daley Paula Spivey, Chuck Anglin The Putnam County Board of Tax Assessors held a regular business meeting on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, in the Tax Assessors office. Chairperson Storey called the meeting to order at 3:03pm. Minutes from the regular business meeting held on. July 9, 2024 were reviewed by the board. In an motion made by Richter and seconded by Reese, the minutes were unanimously approved. Chief Appraiser Anglin submitted al letter to the board requesting reinstatement of homestead exemption for parcel #102Y-055, as well as reimbursement of taxes paid. Exemption was removed in 2021 because taxpayers failed to respond to a homestead letter sent in 2020 advising them to reapply by April 1, 2021 due to a name change on the deed. After some discussion, andi in a motion by Bales and seconded by Reese, the board unanimously approved reinstatement of homestead exemption for 2024, but no reimbursement of taxes paid for previous years. In a motion by Richter and seconded by Reese, the board unanimously approved these values and the mailing of 45-Day notices dated today's date (1 page attached in minutes). Mr. Anglin then submitted a value adjustment on a marine account. In a motion by Bales, seconded by Reese, the board approved the mailing of a 30-Day notice dated today's date for this account (1 page attached in A list of adjusted values for real property was provided to the board for review. in a motion by Reese and seconded by Bales, the board unanimously approved these new values and the mailing of 30-Day notices dated 8/14/2024 for one-hundred six (106) real propertyaccounts A list of appeals going to BOE was then reviewed by the board. In a motion by Reese and seconded by Richter, the board unanimously approved the mailing of forty-four (44) "No Change" notices dated 8/14/2024. In a motion by Richter and seconded by Bales, the board unanimously approved the forwarding of a total of seventy-four (74) appeals to the Clerk of Courts for BOE scheduling (2-page list attached in minutes, which includes appellants in "30 Mr. Anglin advised the board of an appraisal submitted with an appeal on parcel #034-013.
