Participation in this program is completely voluntary. Your child's healthcare provider can also provide the flu For the 2024-2025 flu season, only the flu shot will be provided. The flu mist (nasal spray) will not be offered this flu season ini the school based flu clinics. Based on Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recommendations, children up to 8 years of age may need a second vaccine approximately one month after receiving their first vaccine. Lanier County Health Department staff will return to the school to administer the second vaccine, if needed. Ifwe are unable to verify your child's immunizations in the Georgia Registry of Immunization Transactions & Services (GRITS), we will be unable to administer the flu vaccine to your child. This is to ensure he/she does not receive the flu vaccine twice.
