HEARD COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS WORK SESSION  August 29, 2024- - 5:00 P.M.  The Heard County Board of Commissioners held a work session on August 29, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. ini the Commission Chamber of the Heard County Administration Building. In attendance at the meeting were Chairman Lee Boone, District 2 Commissioner James Perry, District 3 Commissioner Iris Harris, District 4 Commissioner Larry Hammond. District 1 Commissioner Larry Hooks and District 5 Commissioner David Walls were unable to attend.  Chairman Boone stated that this work session was to discuss the current subdivision ordinance  and other matters.  The Chairman gave an update to an inquiry made about the proposed new CAD System. The Sheriffhad initially selected a company for the CAD system, but the owner recently sold the business to another company. This change made the Sheriff uncomfortable with the new company's ability to deliver the service as originally promised. Consequently, the Sheriff withdrew from the deal and is now searching for a new CAD system that best meets Heard  County'ss specific needs.  The Director ofBuilding and Zoning, Macie Cassell, and the Tax. Assessor, Dustin Pate, were both present to address questions from the Board and to recommend updates to the current subdivision ordinance. After extensive discussion, several proposed updates were outlined and  will be sent to the county attorney for legal review and advisement.
