Cumberland County Board of Elections Board Meeting (Special Meeting)  October 16, 2023  Broad Members in attendance were Chair Grimes, Member Edmonds, Member Devore, Member King,  Member Baker.  Staffi in attendance are Director Amaro, Deputy Director Hilburn.  The invocation was offered by Member ?.  The meeting was called to order by the Chair at 4:00 pm.  Action: Member Devore moves to adjourn this meeting and move the items on the agenda to the 5:00  p.m. meeting which is properly noticed.(second by Member Baker) Vote fails 2-3 (for: Baker, Devore; against: King, Edmonds, Grimes).  Member Devore states that she will not participate in an illegal meeting; Member Devore and Member Director Amaro consults with NCSBE attorney & staff to clarify whether the meeting can take place NCSBE attorney advises that the meeting could be held; remains board members decide to adjourn  Baker depart the room.  since there is no bi-partisan representation.  until the others return.
