Cumberland County Board of Elections  Board Meeting August 8, 2023  Board Members in attendance were Chair Grimes, Member Edmonds, Member Devore, Member King,  Member Baker.  Staff in attendance are Director Amaro and Deputy Director Hilburn.  The invocation was offered by Member King. The meeting was called to order by the Chair at 5:00 pm. New Business:  Absentee Meetings: Director Amaro advised that October primary ballots will not be sent out ini time for any to be returned for consideration before September 5th and 12th meetings and time for the other Action: Member Devore moves to cancel the September. 5th and. September 12th meetings.fsecond, by Action: Member Devore to: set Absentee meetings) for September. 19th, September. 26th and October  meetings (September 19th, September 26th, and October 3rd) needed to be decided. Action: Member Devore to set Absentee meetings for October 10th, and. 17th at 2:00 p.m. (second by  Member Baker). Vote is unanimous inj favor.  Action: Member Devore to: set a meeting, for August 22nd at 5:00 p.m. to appoint precinct officials. Manchester voting location: Director Amaro advised that some of the Manchester area is in the City of Fayetteville and Spring Lake Municipality. We previously requested that the voting location be transferred to Spring Lake. With it being within the City of Fayetteville it will need to be open for both Action: Member Devore moves to rescind the resolution to transfer the Manchester voting location to  (second by Member Edmonds.
