October 11, 2022 Absentee Meeting Minutes  Invocation - Billy King  The meeting was called to order on October 11, 2022 at 9:06 a.m. at the Cumberland County  Board of Elections board room by the Chair.  Present: Staff: Absent:  Helen Nelson - Chair Irene Grimes Secretary  Billy King - Member James Baker - Member  Vicki Hillburn, Mitzie Roberts, Angie. Amaro  Linda Devore - Member  ACTION: Chair Nelson moves that the agenda be ammended sO that item 4 (Approval of  Absentees) be moved to become Item 5. Second: Member King Vote: Unanimous in favor Second: Member King Vote: Unanimous in favor  ACTION: Member Grimes moves that the Board approve the agenda.  Chair Nelson gives a personnel update; she reads a resolution recommending Angie Amaro be appointed as Director of Elections in Cumberland County and a statement form NCSBE  accepting the recommendation and making the appointment. Ms. Amaro is sworn in as Director of Elections. to Vicki Hillburn (Absentee Officer).  Chair Nelson asks Director Amaro for her report; Director Amaro delegates the. Absentee report Absentee Officer Hillburn presents 115 absentee ballot envelopes: 109 Civilian, 2 Military and 4 Overseas that have been received and reports that the staff recommendation is to approve ACTION: Member Grimes moves to approve the 115 absentee ballots presented by staff  them. Board members spot check the envelopes.  following their recommendation. Second: Member King Vote: Unanimous in favor  Ballots were entered into the tabulator, bringing the total absentee ballot count on the DS200  to442.
