CITIZENS WISHING TO ADDRESS COUNCIL Ty Smith Discussed issues he has had with the Pasadena Police Department and problems he has encountered trying to set up a meeting with the Chief of Police and Mayor Wagner. Stated he wants to bring attention to malfeasance that has taken place at the police department. Remarked he has evidence and would like to submit it to Mayor Clint Castellow - President, Pasadena Livestock Show and Rodeo. Announced that it is the 75th year of the rodeo. Proceeded to give brief history and background. Noted that last year they were able to put $657,000 back in the hands of the community and local students. Commented they would not be able to do these things without the support of the Mayor, Council and their many volunteers. Shared the dates of the parade, cookoff and events to be held at the rodeo. (At this time Mr. Castellow asked Bear Hebert to hand Robert Jeter III - Discussed a recent issue he had with a Pasadena City Marshal's officer while walking his dog in a neighborhood park after hours. Noted that the City Marshal's were using ATVs and bicycles for training. Remarked that citizens are banned from using ATVs on the trails of that park and it is unsafe to operate them at night. Commented that the high-end ATVs are unnecessary on those trails. Recommended the ATVs be soid at auction where the officers can purchase them for private use. Laura Mireles - Community Information Manager, Community Relations Department. Stated she has the distinct pleasure of being the Public Information Officer in times of emergency management and works very closely with the city's OEM and the first responder media team. Noted that September is National Preparedness Month. Gave a shout out to all the first responders and the Office of Emergency Management for all the hard work they do during emergencies. Commented that what we don't see is how hard they work getting Pasadena prepared and ready. Mentioned that the city's Office of Emergency Management does such a good job that they are often called upon by other municipalities for help and guidance and have won major awards.
