AUDIENCE: William Ammerman, Marven Smith, Jim Catalano, Carl Condon, Bruce Bliss, Philip Carr Marven Smith stated about 14-15 years ago he asked the Council to be against the landfill. He lives on S. 8thSt. He didn't think he would bel here, but here he is again, he didn't think they would be fighting for this again. There has been many attempts to stop this landfill. Basically asked one thing, he is proud oft the commissioners, they will appealed this, iti may be a one to two year to do it, and $100,000 to $200,000 to doi this or more. He would like to ask thel Borough to find a way to support the county in this endeavor. Hei is going to the township to ask thes same way. He understands the County has al budget. Ifthe community says ifthey are willing tol help, Mr. Smith will go ona campaign. He will fight, and ask for the communities help. He asked thel Borough toj put iti ini next year's budget. Jim Catalana introduced himself, hei is from] Boggs" Township. He asked tot take 250 garbage trucks offt the interslate, and run the traffic lo lake them Lo thel landfill. This will cause such traffic problems. Each) highway through Clearfield willl be effected, it willi interfere with school buses, school vans, coal trucks, industrial trucks. Accidents willl be hazardous, these garbage truck will include medical waste too. He: asked the Borough for any help Carl Condon, introduced himself, he is from Litz Bridge. Het took different dates and time and counted cars and trucks going North and South going through at Litz Road. One day, 320 cars, 56t trucks, day two, 584 cars,29 trucks, and day three 317 cars and 461 trucks, time intervals were two hours, and different times of the day. Now imagine put 250 garbage haulers in the mix. One day, he was driving towards Clearfield Creek, he followed a coal truck, hel knows hel had tol be going 60 mph., they go so fast through this area. he has great concern adding 250 Bruce Bliss introduced! himself. Hel lives in Boggs township. In fourteen years there has been six deaths ont this highway. They say 250 garbage trucks, but there will be more. He also has concern of property value. And feels they should be compensated: fori it. He also said this will affect the air andt the water. He is asking for any help from Phil Carr introduced himself, he wanted toj point out, before back ini the 80's, it was a smaller scale. The: smell was terrible, you couldn't hang your clothes out, it put a brown stain ont ther roads, it was a liquid leaking fromi the garbage trucks, what wasi itt they were: inhaling, wondered what disease could be exposed. Asl he remembers Clearfield Creek ran orange then, but eventually people put moneyini it, now there is fish, ducks, geese, and eagles. Hel has been working on a cooperation agreement with the Borough and Clearly. Ahead. Hel has taken out the maintenance. He still has aj problem with the exhibits, showing sidewalk isj just a sharpie drawn on a map, there arei no dimension, etc. He does recommend approve it, signi it, but BOROUGH OPERATIONS MANAGER: A copy ofthe BOM's report is on file. The Municipal Authority and thel Borough is both faced with maybe not. having a clear cut understanding with any complications tol be seen as thej project moves forward. January was al busy month, there was al lot ofwork. Het updated the demolition for the bank, it went down quick and clean. They are tamping thel hole. Its should be a month tot two for construction.
