Consideration and possible action: Event details for Family Fun Fest to be held by the Park and Community Services Director Georgia Carmack stated that there have SO far been no applications for the Old Smokey Cook-offandh has, therefore, recommended extending the deadline for registration to. June2 24,2024, adding that the representatives from Old Smokey will still have enough time from that deadline to put together the Old Motion by Chairperson Martinez to extend the Old Smokey application deadline to June 24, 2024, seconded by Ms. Carmack advised thats shel has not received any silent auction items other than thet four $50 gift certificates from Pook's Crawfish Hole. Associate Chairperson Murello stated that he has al basket from Haak Vineyards and Winery and that he is trying to secure an item from Del Papa Distributing. Briefing and discussion: Forthcoming acquisition of Runge Park from Galveston County, as approved Community Services Director Georgia Carmack explained that the Santa Fe City Council on June 13, 2024, approved acquisition of Runge Parki from Galveston County and that thei final approval will be made during ther next Galveston County Commissioners Court meeting. Ms. Carmack added that she and the City of Santa Fel Building Inspector will be assessing Runge Park to determine what actions will needi tol bet taken toi improve the park. Ms. Carmack advised that there are funding opportunities already available for the park, sO fundraising events will by City Council on June 13, 2024, including possible plans for the park remain focused on Behringer-Tully Field. Consideration and possible action: Involvement of the Park and Recreation Board for the 2024 Pocket The Pocket Market Chairperson Evelyn Hayes has secured the headliner for The Pocket Market Music Fest and Mrs. Hayes asked whether she will be able to sell beer and wine at the event since the venue, Runge Park, willl be under new ownership. Ms. Carmack stated that, while she believes that the rules are the same, she will look intoit. Mrs. Hayes announced that she would! like to continue to work with the City of Santal Fe and hold The Pocket Market Music Fest at Runge Park until the event outgrows the venue and she is able to charge admission. Mrs. Hayes stated that the Park and Recreation Board will bet featured on the event flyer as a sponsor of the event. In response to Mrs. Hayes's question about a $7,000funding contribution from thel Park and Recreation Board, Ms. Carmack responded that her request would need approval from the Santa Fe City Council and will be placed on the Mrs. Hayes advised that she isi in the process of establishing a non-profit status for The Pocket Market and would liket toinclude the Park and Recreation Board as a beneficiary of proceeds from future collaborations with the board.
