REGULAR SESSION January10,: 2024 The Thorndale City Council met in Regular Session on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 in the meeting room of Thorndale City Hall, 105 N. Main Street, Thorndale, Texas at 5:30 p.m. Present- Mayor - George Galbreath Jr. Mayor Pro Tem - Steven Zuehlke Davis, Jared Melde Council -Jared Melde, Marla Davis, Michael Becker, Wayne Green, Marla Employees - Raymond Miller Jr., Stacy Irwin, Jeremy Hoskins 1. 2. 3. 4. Call to Order Mayor Galbreath called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mayor Galbreath. Pledge of Allegiance Citizens Public Comments None. Motion was seconded by Councilman Green and carried, 5-0. REGULAR AGENDA ITEMS 5. Discussion and update on the City Water Supply Project and Water Meter Administrator Miller stated as part of the Water Supply Project the city must select an Engineer, Financial Advisor and Bond Counsel. This process began on December 28, 2023. Reporting on the test well, Hydro Mid Continent, Inc. completed the drilling and collected water samples showing good water quality, however the cityi is waiting on results from TCEQ. Engineer Lischka reported that the test well was dug down to 760 feet where sand was found, along with several water bearing zones. Stating that Replacement Project. everything looks good with the water and site. Administrator Miller stated that in regards tot the Meter Replacement Project all remaining Cellular Endpoints should be Discussion and possible action to approve the costs to re-build the batting cages at the Administrator Miller gave three different bids for the council to review. After some discussion, Councilman Zuehlke made the motion to proceed with repairing the batting cages next fiscal year when the cost can be added in the budget. Motion was seconded Discussion and review of proposed Subdivision and Development Regulations for the Administrator Miller stated the information provided is for council to read, review and Discussion and Update on the City of Thorndale Downtown Streetscapes Project. Administrator Miller explained that the city received great news on the grant for downtown. TxDOT will be taking over the 1.3 million dollar project from Front Street to Salty Street by handling the design, public meetings, hiring the contractor and pay all the bills. Administrator Miller stated at full reconstruction project of US79 through the city limits oft Thorndale is being organized by the Bryan TxDot District. Approximately 1.2 miles of improvements will consist of curb and gutters, improved drainage, center turn lane, sidewalks along both sides and handicap ramps at all intersections.
