Minutes The City of Princeton City Council Meeting of June 10, 2024 The City Council of the City of Princeton, Texas, met in Regular Session on June 10, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. in the City Council Chamber at the Municipal Center, located at 2000 E. Princeton Dr. Princeton, Texas 75407. The following Councimembers were present: Mayor Brianna Chacon, Mayor Pro Tempore Steven Deffibaugh, Councimember Bryan Washington, Councimember Ryan Gerfers, Councimember Carolyn David-Graves, and Councilmember Marlo Obera. The following Councilmembers were absent: Councimember Ben Long. Mayor Chacon called the City Council Meeting to order at 6:32 p.m. Mayor Chacôn called roll, present were Councimembers: Ryan Gerfers, Bryan Washington, Mayor Pro Tempore Steven Deffibaugh, and Carolyn Davd-Graves. Mayor Chacôn then announced Items of Community Interest: Today is the last day to apply for Empowerful's Youth Entrepreneur Exploration Cohort Program! The program features six educational sessions concluded by a pitch competition for a chance to win a $150 scholarship. Visit the library's Facebook page to find the application. May 28, 2024, Special City Council Meeting January 8, 2024, Work Session City Council Meeting. 2024-06-10-R: Consider approving Resolution No. 2024-06-10-R, a request from Shane Tully to remove a tract of land from the City's extraterritorial jurisdiction, said property being 6.109 acres of land situated in the David' Van Winkle Survey, Abstract No. 936, Collin County, Texas; and take appropriate action. 2024-06-10-R01: Consider approving Resolution No. 2024- 06-10-R01, a request from Faisal Madhat to remove a tract of land from the City's extraterritorial jurisdiction, said property being 2.011 acres of land situated in the Sarah D. Terry Survey, Abstract No. 890, Collin County, Texas; and take appropriate action. 2024-06-10-R02: Consider approving Resolution No. 2024- 06-10-R02, a request from Kenneth and Linda Campbell to remove a tract of land from the City's extraterritorial jurisdiction, said property being 2.595 acres of land situated in the David Van Winkle Survey, Abstract No. 936, Collin County, Texas; and take appropriate action. Mayor Pro Tempore Steven Deffibaugh made a motion to approve. Councimember Bryan Washington seconded the motion to approve. The motion carried 6-0. Mayor Chacôn announced Executive Session: Under terms of Chapter 551 of Texas Government Code the City Council may enter into Closed Session or Executive Session to discuss the following: Section 551.071, Texas Government Code. Consultation with the City Attorney on pending or contemplated litigation, a settlement offer, or on a matter in which the duty of the attomey to the governmental body under the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct of the State Bar of Texas clearly conflicts with this chapter on any agenda item listed elsewhere within 4 this agenda, and/or the subject matter listed below. Section 551.074, Texas Government Code. Personnel Matters; Closed Meeting.(a) This chapter does not require a governmental body to conduct an open meeting: (1) to deliberate the appointment, employment, evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline, or dismissal of a public officer or employee; or (2) to hear a complaint or charge against an officer ore employee.
