ORONARD  RESOLUTION No. 240822-1  A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF LEONARD, FANNIN COUNTY, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE APPLICATION TO THE DJ-EDWARD BYRNE MEMORIAL JUSTICE ASSISTANCE GRANT PROGRAM FOR THE PURPOSE OF A RECORDS  MANAGEMENT GRANT FUND YEAR 2023.  WHEREAS, The City of Leonard (the "City") is a General Type A municipality located in Fannin County, Texas; and is governed by the City Council who are charged with finding the funding for necessary WHEREAS, there is a need in the City of Leonard for a records management system to support the municipal police department; and the Office oft the Governor offers ar records management grant through the DJ-Edward Byrne Memorial. Justice Assistance Grant Program for these purposes; and WHEREAS, the City of Leonard City Council finds it is in the best interest of the city to support projects that promote public safety, reduce crime, and improve the criminal justice system; and would authorize the City Administrator or Chief of Police to be the authorized contact fort the grants administration; and WHEREAS, the City of Leonard City Council agrees that in the event of loss or misuse oft the Office of the Governor funds, the City. Council assures that the funds willl be returned to the Office of the Governor in NOW, THEREFORE, BEI IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OFTHE CITY OF LEONARD, TEXAS, THAT: Section 1. The City Council hereby approves the application 5099801 to the Office of the Governor's  operations oft the city; and  full;  Records Management System Grant as described, with no match. Section 2. The City Administrator or Police Chief willl be the authorized contact. Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective after the City Council's adoption.  ADOPTED this 22th day of August, 2024.
