Consideration/Discussion/Approval of resolution to continue an ongoing arrangement with. Jefferson County wherein the County provides useful road repair services in exchange for the purchase of materials by the City to repair the 13300 block of Leaning Oaks. Tabled M/M/2/C- Councilman Merendno/Counclwoman Mitchell- Councilman Emmons and Councilwoman Vautrot opposed Mayor Emmons = Reads the resolution Councilwoman Mitchell- What account are the funds coming out of Mayor Emmons- The roads account. Iti is not coming out of the grant Councilman Mullins- Where is the $75,0001 that we received from the Mayor Emmons- Yes, iti is locked in as it is approved and submitted to Councilman Mullins- Suggests that we go ahead and approve this because it is not going to be covered in the road grant. Councilman Merendino- If we do this road, we don't have to pay labor? Mayor Emmons- We don't have to pay labor on half a mile worth of Councilman Merendino- Would it be more beneficial for the County if we went ahead and did the half a mile instead of only doing a quarter mile? Suggests tabling this decision until wei figure out another road funds. road grant? What account was it put in? Councilwoman Mitchell- Is this price locked in? the County work. that needs tol be done Councilman Mullins- The only way that he agrees to table the decision isi if we can have another meeting before the next scheduled meeting to get this done. If we table this decision, we need to add another Councilwoman Mitchell- How fast did Vernon get the quote to do this quarter mile road for them to do. Mayor Emmons- 24-hours road? 8. Reports a. Councilman Merendino- Flood Prevention Project b. Councilman Emmons- Roads & Drainage Councilman Merendino - DD6- came out and added another culvert on Davida. Councilman Emmons- the type of material that they are going to be using on the roads is good material, however, the companies that carry the material, have not been able to get the material. The road grant only covers Sweetgum, Riverbend & Shipley. Mentions that he did a survey oft the roads and picked out sections of each road that needs to be done rather than doing the entire road. If the cost of the material comes down, we may be able to do some of Councilman Mullins- He spoke with. Jared from UA and said that we are in the summer months right now, so if we wait until winter months to doi it, the Mayor Emmons- This is a state-wide shortage on material Councilman Merendino- Why haven't we went out for bids? What are we Councilman Mullins- We spoke with the engineers and they suggested that we wait al little bit to see ift the price of material, goes down. Lift Station Grant- We are waiting on material for the electrical components. Endpoints- The endpoints that are currently in place for some of the meters, are going out of date. They will be changed as soon as there is time to doi it. Councilwoman Mitchell- Ihave done some work on the water rates and at the side streets. Councilwoman Mitchell - Water Rates this point the rates can not be lowered. e. Councilwoman Vautrot- Grounds & Maintenance Mayor Emmons- Various Topics Security Lights- Councilman Mullins suggested that there be security lights put up at the basketball courts. Our Entergy rep: said that it would be at least Elevation Grant- They have started on the second round of houses. another month before the work can be done 9.
