SRU Institute for Nonprofit Leadership: Recovering Life Initiatives update- Thel heART for Sobriety art/craft activities continue tol be offered at SUCCEED each Friday The Impacting Together recovery advocacy group continues to meet on the 1stand 3rd Tuesday ofeach month. The meetings continue to be well attended by a core group ofindividuals in recovery. The group continues its focus on the development ofa a recovery community We did partner with SRU tol host the 3rd sober New Year's Eve party at SUCCEED. Approximately 20 individuals rang in the New Year with food, games, prizes, and fellowship. As discussed at the November meeting, wel have located and secured al building. A HealthChoices reinvestment plan was submitted and approved for the purchase and start-up costs associated with thei recovery center. The Nonprofit Development Corporation (NDC) purchased the building on our behalf and the property is the site of the former Grace Youth & Family A Specialized Service Agreement is currently being developed between NDC and Butler County for Opioid Settlement Funding in the amount of $338,000.00 to be used to assist with renovations to the recovery center, fixed assets, and overall operating costs. from 3:00pm to 4:30pm. organization (RCO). R Recovery Center update- Foundation located on Center Ave. el Lawl Enforcement Treatment Initiative (LETI) update- The LETI program empowers law enforcement officers as well as others to guide individuals who are suffering from addiction into treatment, rather than immediately diverting them into the The. Attorney General's Office, in collaboration with the D.A.'s Office, have scheduled LETI trainings on January 30th. Three trainings (1.51 hours each) are being offered throughout the day and the trainings are open to criminal justice stakeholders as well as other entities who may come into contact with individuals in need of substance use treatment services. The trainings will explain the various levels oft the criminal justice system when ai treatment referral may bei made, which includes from the time ofarrest/police interaction up to and including post sentence As of] last week, there have been 40 confirmed overdose deaths thus far for 2023 with 8 cases For comparison purposes: at this time last year, there had been 57 confirmed overdose deaths criminal justice system. probation violation proceedings. C County Overdose update- still pending. with 10 cases still pending. The final confirmed number for 2022 was 65. Butler County Drug & Alcohol Advisory Board - January 16, 2024 Meeting Minutes 2 Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs (DDAP) Updates: A Annual Provider Monitoring- Wel have received our provider assignments for FY 2023-24 and we will start the process of scheduling monitoring visits with all assigned in-county providers. This will include the monitoring oft treatment, prevention, intervention, case: management, and certified recovery specialist (CRS) services. - Request for additional FY 2023-24 Funds- As previously discussed at the November meeting, we received correspondence: from DDAP regarding the availability of additional funds for treatment, prevention, and treatment-related services. At the beginning ofDecember we submitted ai request for an additional $49,150.00. This includes ai request for $35,000 in additional treatment funding and ai request of$14,150 for harm reduction related services. State Updates: I None Financial Report Case Manager Report Bill Kepple reviewed the allocations and expenditures through December 31, 2023. Tracey Hendrix reviewed the statistics for the Monthly Assessment Services, the Information/Referal Services (IRS), and the Client Location graph for the month ofDecember 2023. She also reviewed the Fiscal Year 2023-2024 Second Quarter Assessment Statistics, the Quarterly Drug of Choice Statistics, Top Drugs ofUsage, Referrals, and the Client Location Graph. Prevention Report Lisa Gill gave an overview ofu upcoming Drug & Alcohol prevention events and trainings. She reviewed the Fiscal Year 2023-2024 Second Quarter Prevention Service Data: including the Prevention/ntervention: Number of Services, Number of Individuals Served, and the Prevention Demographic Data. She reviewed the Second Quarter Number of Prevention Services by Age Group and by Location. She provided two flyers for upcoming events. Nominating Committee Donna shared with the Board Members the news oft the loss of our newest board member, Damien Gurner who passed away in December. PCCD Update 3 Butler County Drug & Alcohol Advisory Board-J January 16, 2024 Meeting Minutes Kristan Semmler reported one: new person has been added to the group SO they now. have (9) nine people ini the program. The majority of participants are in various levels ofIOP to Outpatient treatment. There are a few individuals on the cusp of graduating successfully and one person is Kristan announced that Matt Duncan is now the probation officer overseeing this program. Matt will have Kristan's old phone number to ensure that no phone calls are lost. Kristan said that she transitioning from inpatient to al halfway house. can still answer any questions that anyone may have. Drug Treatment Court Update Donna reported that there are currently fourteen (14)individuals participating in the program. A couple of them are in al halfway house, one is in inpatient treatment and the remainder are in some. level of outpatient treatment with three ini intensive outpatient treatment. There are 3-4 pending referrals. There were: none. Council Members' ConcemsyComments/Amnouncements Providers' Concemsy/Comments/Amnouncements Ken Clowes announced that BC3's Hope is Dope program, which received funding through the Opioid Settlement has classes set up currently for professionals. These are four-hour trainings to bel held at the County Government building for. January, February, and March. More in-depth trainings will be scheduled for the recovery community possibly starting the end of] March. Public Comment Regarding General Items There were: no public comments.
