SCA: Case Managemenl/reatmenl/Prevention Updates: - SRU Institute for Nonprofit Leadership: Recovering Life Initiatives update- The heART for Sobriety art/craft activities continue tol be offered at SUCCEED each Friday The Impacting Together recovery advocacy group continues to meet on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday ofeach month. The meetings continue tol be well attended by a core group ofindividuals in recovery. The group continues its focus onj preparing for the opening oft the recovery center and As previously discussed, the Nonprofit Development Corporation (NDC) purchased the building at 100 Center Ave. on our behalf. NDC: is currently working on necessary repairs and renovations to the building and we expect to be ablei to officially open the center by the from 3:00pm to 4:30pm. eventually transitioning to a recovery community organization (RCO). F Recovery Center update- beginning of May. e Law Enforcement Treatment Initiative (LETI) update- The LETI program empowers law enforcement officers as well as others to guide individuals who are suffering from addiction into treatment, rather than immediately diverting them into the The. Attorney General's Office, in collaboration with the D.A.'s Office, held three (3) LETI trainings on January 30th. The trainings were open to criminal justice stakeholders as well as other entities who may come into contact with individuals ini need ofs substance use treatment services. All three trainings were well attended and future trainings can be scheduled ifthere is a criminal justice system. need within the county. e County Overdose update- The final 2023 confirmed number of overdose deaths is 41. For 2024, as ofl last week, there have been 2 confirmed overdose deaths thus far and 9 cases still For comparison purposes: at this time last year, therel had been 3 confirmed overdose deaths with pending. 9 cases still pending. Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs (DDAP) Updates: Annual Provider Monitoring- As mentioned last month, wel have: received our provider assignments for FY 2023-24 and we have started scheduling monitoring visits with all assigned in-county providers. This includes the monitoring of treatment, prevention, intervention, case management, and certified recovery specialist (CRS) services. XYZ: Rate Setting Process- 2 Butler County Drug & Alcohol Advisory Board - February 20, 2024 Meeting Minutes The FY 2024-25 rate setting process for all non-hospital residential and halfway house providers began at the beginning ofFebruary. The completed packets are due back to our office by the beginning ofMarch. We will again partner with other SCA's within our region to review all As previously discussed, we submitted a request for an additional $49,150.00: in funding for additional treatment services as well as harm reduction supplies. FY2024- 2025 Budget Proposal- State Updates: On February 6th, Governor Shapiro delivered his second budget address, announcing his $48.3 billion fiscal proposal for FY 2024-25. Thej proposal represents an increase ofa approximately The budget proposal does assume new taxes on adult-use cannabis and skills game, which, if enacted, are expected toj produce $15 million and $1501 million in: revenue in FY 2024-25, The proposed budget for substance use prevention and treatment services remains stable and unchanged from the current fiscal year. A small increase in funding to DDAP has been proposed to add support for recovery services within the department and to provide case management services to improve continuity for individuals who are receiving treatment for gambling issues. This bill proposes to amend the Controlled Substance, Drug, Device and Cosmetic Act of1972. H.B. 1245, which would authorize syringe services programs statewide, passed the House Judiciary Committee on 2/14/24 with bipartisan support. This marks the first time that the PA $3.71 billion, or 8.4%, over the FY 2023-24 budget. respectively. H.B.1245- Legislature has ever voted on syringe service program legislation. Financial Report Case Manager Report Cory Achezinski reviewed the allocations and expenditures through December 31, 2023. Tracey Hendrix reviewed the statistics for the Monthly Assessment Services, the Information/Referal Services (IRS), and the Client Location graph for the month of. January 2024. Prevention Report Lisa Gill gave an overview of upcoming Drug & Alcohol prevention events and trainings. She reviewed the Prevention Service Data: including the Preyention/ntervention: Number of Services, Number ofI Individuals Served, and the Prevention Demographic Data for the month of January 2024. One individual isi in inpatient, onei isi in al halfway house, there is one in IOP, four in outpatient and two that have completed all Drug Treatment Court Update Donna reported that there are currently fifteen (15)individuals participating in the program. Three are in a halfway house and eleven are in outpatient andi intensive outpatient treatment. One person is incarcerated pending admission into treatment. One person will be graduating on February 29th at 2:00 p.m. in Courtroom #2. Council Members' Concems/Comments/Announcements Providers' Coners/CommentsyAmnouncements There werei none. Ken Clowes said BC3 will have another Hope is Dope training for County employees in March. There are still spaces available for this training. They are, getting ready for their Hope is Dope Recovery Community series tol bel held at the YMCA. In April there will be a professional series for Hope is Dope.
