Right now, that fund holds $70K ini it andy with thisl letter comes and we should basically thank Arlene Quirk and Sean Burger from Keller and Williams they donated $3,800.00. They madet that commitment last year and they're going to continue that. Ibring that up becausel It think wei need tos stir the other businesses and other residents to understand. how important this program is. No one int this County, ifthey want to become an) EMT, pays a dime to gett the training and they don'th have to goi further than Blooming Grove (Township) to gett thatt training from our training staff. We are coming up on two years since we opened inl Pike County. We aret the CASA of Pike County Program which is Court Appointed Special Advocates. We recruit volunteers who are sworn in by the Court. They go through training anda are sworn int by the Court andt they are appointed to advocate for our foster children, any children int the dependency system. They are appointed to advocate for the children on a one-on-one basis which does give us al lot oft time and al lot of dedication. We dol have sixteen children on our waiting list, and we are always recruiting andt trying tot train new volunteers. Ihave four new volunteersi in the training program rightr now that will bes sworn inb by the Court the first week of December, so we'll be able to appoint them tor more children. Unfortunately, wel have more needst than wel have advocates, sot that fluctuates al little bit. We're probably about 70%1 right now, but we have seen tremendous outcomes for the children withj just additional support and a one-on-one: relationship.. It think that wel bringa a lot tot thet table when we work with the caseworkers through Children and Youth, andi it gives another set of eyes and ears tot the Courtt to makes solid decisions so these children can move toward permanency and the family can move toward Int two years, we have accomplished: al lot.
